He's actually really hard working. Why are all our hard workers crap and all our talented players lazy bastards?

He's hard working when he wants to be. When he's out of position and he needs to get back, he fecking jogs. He's actually really hard working. Why are all our hard workers crap and all our talented players lazy bastards?
You made more sense on the SimpsonsHe's actually really hard working. Why are all our hard workers crap and all our talented players lazy bastards?
No he's not. So slow in getting in position, attack or defence. He's actually really hard working. Why are all our hard workers crap and all our talented players lazy bastards?

He only had one PL season when we signed him and young players was always going to be a gamble. His price, as well as Maguire's, was just before covid so it was the worst time to splurge. However, I'm more disappointed at the fact that we never really considered Hakimi for the same price, who was much more proven and was available on at least two occasions.I hate how he sometimes just leaves the ball so he can slide tackle instead of running to cut it out and re-launch an attack. We need to be ruthless and cut our losses with him and Harold Maguire (amongst others). Can't believe he cost us 50m.
Didn't see first half, only last half hour. I used to think he always gave 100% anyway unlike some players. Either way we got fleeced by Palace because he is such a bad footballer.Did you miss him “chasing” Richarlison for the goal?
Do you reckon Crystal Palace would take him back? Serious question
That's it. He's all about tackling. I don't know how we decided to spend 50 million on someone with that one specific skill. And I not sure how our brilliant scouting team is going to find another RB given this is the best their last search came up with.It doesn't make any sense how a player can be so limited. Apart from tackling, what is he good at ?
Apparently we scouted 2000 RB and he was the best of the bunch. 50m well and truly spent, the state of this club.
It was only 804 in fairness, that's much better. The other 803 must be absolutely brutal though because this guy is so poor, his only quality is he's good at slide tackles but no side that is serious about competing for major trophies can have players who look like they don't know how to kick a ball properly.Apparently we scouted 2000 RB and he was the best of the bunch. 50m well and truly spent, the state of this club.

We spent £150m that summer as part of the "cultural reboot" which basically amounted to buying some British lads. 2 of them absolutely terrible technically and £80m (probably more than double Maguire's actual worth) on the only reasonably competent footballer of the 3.We scouted 800 & then ran the Brexit FC filter of Summer 2019. Which landed us on AWB
This is what annoys me so much. Never looks like hes too bothered whether he does something wrong. Just a sort of shoulder shrug and 'ah well never mind' attitude. Quickly becoming my least favourite player. Nowhere near good enough in both ability and mindset. 50m? God almighty.Everytime he runs he gives the impression he’s jogging.
Would’ve been piss funny seeing him run alongside Jon Moss

I think as a player Maguire is clearly the best of the 3, albeit he's having a stinker of a season, but the James transfer worked out in the sense that we were able to make a profit out of him but at the same time he's very poor technically. It should have been a bigger warning sign earlier that maybe the "cultural reboot" was a load of bollocks when 2 of the 3 players bought were so poor with the ball.James proved to be better than the 3. Working hard, no leaks even though he wanted to leave, and made some profit.
And he usually has to make a last ditch sliding tackle which came from his mistake in the first place. It doesn't make any sense how a player can be so limited. Apart from tackling, what is he good at ?
Was a fault for the chance they created and scored from. Jogged back to Richarlison who he could have closed down but instead decides to give him 10 yards to fecking cross the ball.No urgency, looks like he's playing in a charity game when he runs sorry jogs. It's a shame because of his tackling ability at times can be amazing.
Not on his current wage, no.
Always been an average player. I have no idea how people were sucked in with the last ditch tackles.
He was in Roy Hodgson's Palace team, not sure he would suit a Patrick Viera Palace team.Technique can't be taught. Crystal Palace was his level and I can't see him being fit for purpose under Ten Hag.
But it can be improved. Drogba is the best example I can think of, the player he was in France and the one he ended up being at Chelsea were different in terms of touches on the ball and ability to link upTechnique can't be taught.
