These are two different discussions one of which I don't necessarily disagree so I'm just going to address the ones I feel are relevant to my point.A detailed training method does not need to be total football, tiki taka or gegenpressing based. You will be surprised that Real madrid won the Champions league and La Liga without going through such methods.
Style of play is not the key thing in a training method, rather it is about raising awareness on where and how to move the ball, how you position yourself when the ball is not with you and specific drills to improve on how you keep possession of the ball. Once the players learn this, then only does the first team manager and coaches go into specifics about how they should play based on different formations.
Dont just judge based on videos you see on the net. You wont get to see full training videos as it might reveal key points about how the team is setting itself up for the next game. Thus, it is very premature to say that the coaches during Ole's tenure did not go into details since we have no access to the full training methods.
No it doesn't have to in theory but this is moot because we just hired a disciple of total football, one who carved his style straight out of it so it's kind of inevitable that our training and player assessment will be framed in the image of total football because that is the football we will be implementing.A detailed training method does not need to be total football, tiki taka or gegenpressing based. Well there you go then, these are all things that are part of instilling style of play. From individual technique talent to collective team movement. That's only everything. There's also a little more to it than just telling players where to pass or all managers would play like Klopp and Pep. Opponents will anticipate passing lanes and the players will have to figure out how to commit defenders and play out of trouble with ball skills as well as smarts. This is where individual technique steps into the equation. Poor technique is not something that can be circumvented so easilt.Style of play is not the key thing in a training method, rather it is about raising awareness on where and how to move the ball, how you position yourself when the ball is not with you and specific drills to improve on how you keep possession of the ball. Oh don't you worry about that. Ole was here for 3 years so we have more than enough footage to deduce barebone tactics and training.Dont just judge based on videos you see on the net.
