He's no Xhaka, that's for sure.Sold. Mourinho will love the poundland Lampard that Ramsey is.
A lot's changed for Wales in last year but going back a year or two, he did have players like Ledley behind him (defensive) but also Joe Allen - a mix of defence and attacking. Didn't seem like Ramsey doing nothing defensively and two players running their arses off... he puts in the work too. Think he made team of the tournament in the Euros? You're in for a shock I love Ramsey but you really need 2 very good defensive midfielders behind him to make him shine. When he's not injured of course.

That would be a good deal. Where's that' being reported?Mata is apparently wanted by Juventus in Jan. If that happens i could see us going for Ramsey.
Swiss Charlie Adam? You can have him too.
Sounds just like Van Persie.Another player that wil be almost 29 when signing for us, on a big fat contract until he is 33! First team player since 2007, so how much does he have left in his tank? Avoid avoid avoid
He'll be on a free? He'd cost us less than Dalot ffs. Oh what a burden..Another player that wil be almost 29 when signing for us, on a big fat contract until he is 33! First team player since 2007, so how much does he have left in his tank? Avoid avoid avoid
It’s much more clear than that. With the way Emery wants us to play, there’s quite clearly only room for one of Ramsey or Özil in the team. Özil is better and already on an expensive long-term contract, so it wouldn’t be a smart use of resources to also give Ramsey a blockbuster long-term deal.If I'm Arsenal, I keep him.
Rumours are he was ready to sign, but Arsenal withdrew the contract offer. The popular theory seems to be that Emery was told that signing Ramsey would mean there would be less money to spend elsewhere, so it became a choice of who do you want, rather than do you want Ramsey to stay.
But if you're Arsenal, how much do you have to pay to replace him in today's market, even if it's just as an impact/rotational player? £25m+? And then you're paying 50-100k per week wages to the new guy anyway, so does it even work out cheaper? Does it really warrant the replacing one of the most experienced Arsenal players (in terms of their Arsenal contributions/experience)?
I don't think so. Bigger questions need to be asked if the theory is true, though... How on earth can Arsenal not pay to keep Ramsey & bring in another player for big wages? Is Kroenke really THAT much of a drain? Even without CL football, the money they make is insane - They should be competing financially, at the very least, with Liverpool, but closer to United/City.
(I'm a fan of his, and I'm a bit up in the air about how happy I'd see him play for Liverpool, as I'm not sure we don't really play to his strengths, and if we did, we kinda already have players who can play in his position - Not sure how he'd do for United, either)...

To be fair, if that were true, there is Mkhi sitting on their bench, who I would rate much more than Ramsey. So I could see the logic in Arsenal being reluctant to sign him up on a big deal. That's why I believe they really don't need to replace Ramsey, they already did so in January.200k a week for 5 years is £12m. How much would you be spending for a reasonable replacement/squad player? Ramsey is most suited to the Ozil position under Emery I agree, but it's not like he's only able to play there. He's a good player to have in an injury situation (or on one of Ozil's mid-season holidays).
& he's been at the club for 10 years - It's not like anyone is going to kick up a fuss about Aaron earning more money.

I think we'll find it funny too. Another great thing is Ramsey and Alexis absolutely love each other, they're best buddies. What a great investment it would be, you should totally do it !It's always fun to buy Arsenal players, regardless of how bad they are. Do it for the craic.
We should sign him, bring Welbeck back and add Wenger. Then we can just change our badge to Arsenal FC
It’s £52m, and would likely destroy our wage structure. Completely disagree.200k a week for 5 years is £12m. How much would you be spending for a reasonable replacement/squad player? Jesus Christ there’s actually people considering him for United? He’s literally being kicked out of Arsenal because that’s the not the level of quality they want to move forward with. We are not here to pick up the trash
He s a very good player under the right system, and if rumor is true $200k/week is not too bad for his age. However although he is allowed to leave for free in summer but his sign on fee probably will be over $20M. I think he fits more in a 433 system then a 4231 though. He is not a #10. He is more like a Lampard, without the defensive discipline.
I don't understand why Arsenal don't want him. He is a clever footballer, hard-working, and on average he gets his 6-7 goals each season.
I would gladly have him here
Bayern are predictably sniffing around, the bargain hunters that they are!
Don't know if it was 5 years but he basically strung the club along with his agent for months while a good offer was on the table and ready to be signed. He’s probably asked for a 5 year contract. It’s very surprising for the club to withdraw the offer. He’s a £30-40m player. Don’t think he’s right for us, we have a lot of ‘good’ midfielders, and we now need players who are the very best, and he’s not at that level.
