Indeed. Imagine what would happen if we'd kept Moyesie...I keep thinking about all the trips Moyes was making to watch games, last season. All the pictures of him talking to various agents at the Allianz. If you accept that he laid the groundwork for Shaw and Herrara, maybe there's another one still to be revealed.
No idea who though...

Duncan James
Moyes probably imagines what would have happened if we'd kept him. Every. Single. Day.
Still reckon we should have given him this transfer window and up until Christmas.
I didn't know there still were Moyes apologists around.Still reckon we should have given him this transfer window and up until Christmas.
Can you really not see the difference between the way we are playing now compared to under Moyes?Moyes probably imagines what would have happened if we'd kept him. Every. Single. Day.

Even though we are only in pre - season, I'm actually looking forward to seeing us play. Last year I was going to games like a condemned man.
Everytime we play this pre season Im legit excited afterwards. The formation intrigues me. The way he's already getting improvements out of individuals is very encouraging. The level of obsessive planning and attention to detail is reassuring.I said myself It is only pre - season. However, if you can't appreciate the difference between the dross last year and the fast pass&move football we are seeing after a couple of weeks under van Gaal, then you need smacking round the head with a "Der!-stick"

Last season the friendlies were tumescent and inspiring apart from good showings by a few of the young lads who then never got a chance. This year you get the impression that if the likes of Blackett and James play better than more senior players, LVG would actually stick with them.
Been loving pre season so far. Part of me wants to not sign anyone else just to see how good a job LVG could do purely by coaching our kids and so called poorer players.

Alex Witsel?
He take a "Lovren" on them...That's the name I was going to drop in here as well. I think he'd be a great fit in that midfield.
Unfortunately Zenit would probably ask too much, considering what they paid for him.
Yup. He's a training ground manager not a chequebook manager. Far more likely to want to develop Blackett, Cleverley and Welbeck than splurge on Hummels, Vidal and Reus. This is what van Gaal does best - he puts faith into young players and helps them develop beyond expectation. The way he had transformed Schweinsteiger and Muller into players they are today makes me believe that we are yet to see the best from quite a few players - Cleverley and Welbeck among them.

Yes. The old legends, Vidic, Evra and Rio were definetly important in their own way and true reds, but perhaps this is what the youngsters need to step it up and develop even further. As far as I have seen, the likes of Smalling, Young and Kagawa looks quite a bit better, even if it is early to judge from a couple of games. Also the rest of the team looks sharp. This might of course have something to do with the entire situation as there has been some new faces in the squad and in the coaching team, but the was also true last season. I honestly don't want to see more players leave at this time, but rather given the chance when it matters. I have faith in the current squad + 1 or 2 defensive players.I see a team with some fresh faces, less old legs, with a new inspiring manager playing the sort of football I've been wanting them to play for about three seasons. I'm as excited about the new season as I have been for a long time.

Last year was rough. It was laborious to get out to a pub to watch MUFC play prehistoric footie and lose, followed by incessant WUM's in these forums with the common chorus of "Give Moyes time!"
Anderson was totally out of the blue as the thread on here shows:
He'd be my pick.Bender? Gustavo?
Haven't been linked with either.
Martinez from Bayern?
