Solid season at Napoli as they finished 4th, and then a Pirata d'Oro winning season in 99-00 with the 3rd best defensive record in the league. As long as someone like Ronaldo (58 games compared to Blanc's 65).

I was desperate for a full back tbh. Zambrotta wasn't the finished article in the 90's but still a very exciting player and one of the brightest prospects in the league. Juventus pulled off a coup in signing him from Bari. He was in the Italy team when he was 21/22.

You wish. 15th best player in the world, ahead of Batigol, Baresi, Baggio, Boban. Tacchinardi of course came nowhere near (he didn't even make over 25 appearances in any one season in the 90s). Just can't compare.

Sousa and Winter were great, more cultured than Almeyda but for a bit more bite I would go with Tacchinardi or Almeyda.
Almeyda won the Guerin d'oro in 1999 and played every game for Argentina in 98, at his very best he was absolute beast IMO. Tacchinardi too, so reliable and consisent and supremely intelligent as well.

Tacchinardi is a legend. But I am happy with Dino Baggio. Baggio had the better decade and also played well for Italy and in world cup while Tacchinardi never really established himself for Italia.
Even though his peak was in 2000's, Tacchinardi is really a good pick for the draft.
