#9 The Priority For Jose

After Hargreaves and Bastian, United should be careful what to buy from them. Maybe instead of a doctor we are better off hiring an archeologist to sit on that particular deal

Lol, they pretty much only sell the husks of the player they had.

Muller could be more realistic.
Muller isn't the one who can be the big bad lone wolf upfront. Furthermore he's coming off a very poor season, the thing Muller was always capable of, seems now gone. He's not scoring much anymore. In addition to that, Bayern would demand something outrageous for him, so i would stay clear. He's not the one we need.

I think Lukaku is the most realistic. Despite his obvious flaws I think he will score plenty of goals, rotating him martial and rashford would be great and between the 3 of them they have a little bit of everything.

If we buy Lukaku its absolutely essential to bring in a quality wide player (or 2). If we have money to sign Griezman then let's throw
a few notes at Dortmund for Dembele.

The options touted are just so underwhelming to me.

The Griezmann news sucks.

Exactly, no signing we can make this summer will get muppet juices flowing

Belotti, Moratta, Lukaku, wtf do I care without proper attacking support they won't do a thing more in attack than Zlatan did this season and that will not bring us past 6th place. Someone described it quite well, Mourinho is a genius at improving defenders but he is clueless about improving attackers, he just needs worldclass player to do their thing for him in attack. If we can't sign any worldclass attackers our attack simply will not improve and we won't be doing better than we did this season.

They can keep Rooney and play him for 90 minutes every game, I just don't care anymore. The 2 most obvious players for us to sign that could have actually improved us won't come, one has signed for City, the other likes Atlético more than Manchester...

Also Arsenal will never sell us Sanchez and when Bayern is an option, why would he snub them for us ? Bale will likley stay at Real as per usual and Levy will never in a million years sell us Kane, not even for a £100m. Neymar is also an unrealistic pipedream and I can't see Auba coming to us either.

Summer is over for me, Jose and Woody can feck off, cue another borefest of a season with massive frustration and disappointment.

Lots of creative thinking and 'outside of the box' suggestions for possible strike options in here. Ultimately we all know what's going to happen - it will be either Lukaku or Belotti, for something in the region of £70-80m.

How many decent available "Mourinho 9s" are out there though?
Lukaku
Icardi
Belloti

Who else?

All the reasons you stated exactly makes me feel he could be tempted to push a deal . New club new conditions you never know because form is temporary but class is permanent. Also he ain't that headline maker so the fee could be within limits if he pushes a move.

Options are thin. Benzema, Kane and Lewa are straight up just not happening. Auba is off to PSG/not Mourinho's type of centre forward. Lacazette too. Werner and Mbappe are too young. Cavani misses even more chances than Lewa and Ibra do. I have no idea how good Modeste is and Dzeko is a shout but I've no clue how good he is.

That leaves us with Icardi, Belotti, Lukaku. Icardi is a good option but supposedly very immobile and static. Lukaku and Belotti score a lot of goals, but their prices are very high and both of them seemingly have poor touches and can't link up with their teammates very well.

My point is there is no perfect striker out there on the market right now. Better to get someone rather than no one. And all these preconceptions we have might not be true at all. Last year many did not want Ibra because he was too old, this year he was fantastic.

If we get the midfield with wings to work properly and add to it a good ball playing centre back the talk of striker savior might become redundant. We could even do with a choice of an experienced head like Dzeko who will join Rashford and Martial as our strike force for next season.

Could be, but in my book he genuinely loves Bayern and wouldn't want to go. Furthermore his wife likes her horses in Bavaria and all of them seem very grounded. He's living the dream life and Hoeneß doesn't want to sell a guy who's worth more than money could buy you. They're very sentimental with one of their owns over there, IMO.

Thinking about Bayern and it's Muller, the same applies to Messi and Barca, Ronaldo and Real Madrid (for most people) and there's still captain marvelous Keane at United in a lot of people's mind. Money can't buy you that.

Lukaku seems like a great option but since its Everton he'll be overpriced I think.

It's unlikely but why not go in for Dybala? Juve already have Higuain.

You'd need to pay a world record fee

And Dybala doesn't think highly of the Prem. He's nailed on for Real or Barcelona if he moves.

Only place he is leaving for is Barca.

How do we know for sure he's heading to Spain eventually? Weren't there rumours that pogba favoured a move to Spain two summers ago? Money changes everything and I would happily pay a world record fee for Dybala. He's the real deal.

Lacazette was deemed to be Griezemann's replacement- potential there?

my list of attackers would be

1. M'Bappe
2. Lewandowski
3. Sanchez
4. Kane (would be higher if it wasn't Spurs)
5. then you are on the B list including Lacazette, Aubamuyang etc

think Cavani looks like a Jose type signing.... I'm not a Lukaku fan really

I would go all out for Dembele from Dortmund to create more chances and probably Morata. That wouldn't be a bad summer in terms of attacking potential along with the firepower we already have.

I see Juve getting linked again with promising talents in Bernaschedi and is it Patrick Schmidt? Why do we currently not seem to be linked to these type of players who would surely be a lot cheaper as well? Of course it is all just press rumours but this is such an important window, we really need to get it right

This annoys me too. Why can't we go for younger or upcoming not the finished article players too? Look at City signing Jesus as a (Probably bad) example.

Morata to Milan seem too advanced to hijack and its not like he fancies a move to OT anyway

I'd be fine with re-signing Hernandez as a short term option. Rashford/Martial/Chicha with Ibra back in 2nd half of the season is fine up front.

We did go with memphis and had januzaj it turned out bad.
