Also, is there anybody with in depth 60's knowledge that isn't participating available for me to run some names by them?

Can't believe no one picked a certain prolific striker yet. *Not sure if I should be posting things like this in here, if not, delete it.

*Never mind, Balu got him.

Can I add my name to a reserve list for this (or for the next one)? Never played, would like to give it a go.

@Gol123's choice is the most interesting. Loved van Hanegem. Not who I'd have chosen but great to seem him getting some love so early on. Definitely the kind of player you can build your team around and just versatile enough - in comparison to most other playmakers available - to give you that flexibility to play around with the midfield depending on who's left.

Had a bit of a scan through a few well-known players from that era. The teams you can create are genuinely frightening. Could probably make about two teams filled with players that wouldn't look out of place in a GOAT eleven. Will definitely be following this draft.

I was hoping to get Figueroa, but Gio "10th place sucks" is now sitting with the best pure defender in the draft and I'm still waiting

I basically flipped a coin between Figueroa and Müller. Never thought about anyone else.

Second best midfielder in this draft IMO (Counting Beckenbauer as a sort of midfielder) and also can be played as a holding/box to box/advanced/deep lying playmaker depending on what you want. Absolutely perfect for what I have in mind.

Feck. literally everybody i wanted just got taken. hate you all.

Bold claim, that.

Sublime player either way.

Nah, I second that, best central midfielder in the draft (not counting №10's)
Well, I'm a huge fan of the player, but there should be a few others picked who can more than give him a run for his money in this regard.

Drop after top 2 or 3 is pretty significant in any position, tbh!

Moore, Figueroa, Kaizer
Pele, Muller, Eusebio
There are still some ridiculously good players for those positions (Especially the strikers).

Moore > Figueroa

It's bloody close either way

White text and all but agreed with this, although there really is nothing much between them. Figueroa might be more complete etc but the reading of the game and timing in the tackle that Moore possessed was just nothing short of extraordinary. Probably my favourite tackler alongside Maldini - some of their 'clean' tackles just make you gasp, like as though you just witnessed a #10 pull the ball out of the sky with a sublime first touch.

His work on the ball is bloody underrated as well, his passing in between the lines was inch perfect at times and he barely misplaced a pass. Let's not forget, he assisted 2 goals in the WC final 1966 too.

I don't think there is an striker you would go that Moore would have handled him but not Figueroa and vice versa. So in that context it does not matter but on this forum Moore is more scan voter friendly so it was an easy choice to make.

We were always going to go Figueroa over Moore if they both lasted, so both teams have gotten the player they wanted there.

Probably not much in it but I think Figueroa is a touch better physically, as well as being slightly quicker than Moore who was always quite slow. Both good on the ball and as Crappy says Moore is the bigger vote winner.

Figueroa is more physical and I prefer him because of that. Moore played with Pele against the nazies though, it's a nice link to have if you're to go forward and get the Brazilian somehow

Looked at how chiselled Faccheti's jaw is...

What do you guys mean by selling out with picking Pele? I'm assuming the taboo is about picking the two GOAT beings as Maradona was scrutinised in the other draft?

Is it supposedly because they sway votes so much, or something else?

Just taking the piss really mate, but yeah, the idea is that their name value alone will sway voters hugely. That's why in some of the drafts some of the marquee names are blocked before the drafting begins.
