2024 U.S. Elections | Trump wins

That’s always been the case though? I don’t think we have been expecting much from the Sun Belt. MI/GA, WI and PA or bust.
Wasn't expecting such a big GOP lead with the excellent GOTV operation the Dems have there but whatever. The rust belt numbers look decent for now at least.

You bedwetters are getting strung along as usual, Ralston is good, but hes also an attention whore. Stop torturing yourself with the day to day update and just look at final result at end of early voting.

Context: Republicans won EIP in 2022 by 7 pts.

How are these numbers crunched that are posted in the Tweet above? How do they come up with 45% for Dems, 56% for GOP etc? They can’t be officially confirmed numbers. So it just based on some kind of “survey”?

They have access to the state voter files database by registration, you then match that with the result once they came in. Nov 9 2022 when the tweet was written was day of election.

That's what a lot of the J6 discourse missed, 99% is focused on the riot/Capitol breach, when it was just the final escalation in an insurrection attempt by defrauding the state with fraudulent election result. He tried to falsify the result of the election, when that failed, he unleashed his goons to cast doubt on the result by frivolous lawsuits and public statements and repeated recounts, when that also failed, he produced fraudulent slates of electors and pressured his vice president to certify those instead of the lawful, state legislature's certifed electors. Finally, when said vice president repeatedly refused to do it, he incited the mob to pressure him in a last ditch attempt and watched on TV for 3 hours as they assaulted the Capitol and forced lawmakers to run for their lives.

It's fecking banana republic stuff, the whole world looked at it in disbelief at somehow 47% of Americans who can be bother to vote are saying they want more of that. The American experiment has failed.
Most people simply don’t understand that it was an actual coup attempt because it was such a boring, convoluted, borderline incromprehensible and poorly executed one. As coups go, it was almost a little cute/funny, which is the same reason he gets away with the mental things he says. He’s too stupid to appear genuinely dangerous, his immunity is his incompetence.

Thinking about taking a day off on election day, to be able to follow it. Not directly involved but this is more exciting than a CL final.

I did for the one 4 years ago. Stayed up till about 6am and no result

I will probaly do the same. I have a bad feeling though result might be quite clear a lot earlier this time round though (In Trumps favour)

I can't do that, but I'll get up at 5 AM to watch for a couple of hours before I need to get going

Harris leads Trump by 20 points with younger Americans between the ages of 18-34

Faced with a similar question in July’s Youth & Money Survey, only 46% of respondents selected Harris, while 34% said they would be voting for Trump. Another 21% in that poll said they would vote for then-candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. or another third-party option.

Harris’ 20 point lead over Trump in the latest poll is in line with the margin by which President Joe Biden ultimately won younger voters in his 2020 presidential election victory. Facing an incumbent Trump, Biden won voters age 18 to 39 years old by roughly 20 points, according to Pew Research Center data.

The elephant in the room that no candidate is talking about:

U.S. is increasing base money supply by 7.5% per year. That pace will only increase , until the citizenry becomes aware of what’s going on (in this country, that won’t happen until the media starts reporting on it — because nobody reads here).

Banana republics actually jail people for stuff like that.

We're all involved in this one. Trump leading up to this election reminds me of Jaws Revenge. If he wins the world is going to hell in a handbasket.

Good numbers but I'm not a believer in the 500k firewall thing. As far as I can tell it's just made up?
I’ve been trying to find the methodology he used. Interestingly he was initially at a 395k firewall and then revised it up to 500k. Someone on Reddit guessed this was the formula Reddit link
I’ve seen a few tweets from him hedging on his re significance, saying it’s not gospel, just how he’s weighting things looking at the data. Also firewall is not the right word for him to use, seems more like the number is needed for her to have a shot

What’s the general consensus in WI and MI? Will it stay blue this time again? If Dems can hold those 2 northern states then all they need is PA. Trump can have AZ, NV, NC and GA and he still won’t win.

Have faith in WI, it is a state where the Dems feel motivated and empowered (finally!!!) at the state level.

That’s the trickier of the two as well. Michigan I feel fairly confident with a strong Dem Governor there. So good to know that WI is engaged this time around.

Can he really beat Cruz though? I feel O’Rourke came closest and it’s going to take some doing to come close to those levels.

I've no idea, but she has to go there for a reason! TX ain't turning Blue this cycle, so that senate seat is the only thing I can think of.

Strong Dem governor in WI too. As I have said before, RoJo is the only major statewide GOP office holder in the state. Add to that the fact that, for the first time in decades, the state legislature maps are no longer the most gerrymandered in the country and that the dems are guaranteed to demolish the GOP super majority (and maybe win one of the chambers) and the energy is high.

Polls don't close on the east coast until 7:00pm or 8:00pm and that's when the early results begin to flow in for those states. You would have to take Wednesday off and get up really early to start to follow it.

You'd be better having the day after off because of the time difference

Some of my connections in Lansing seem convinced Trump will take MI unfortunately but they re in with the Rs so hopefully its false optimism.

That was the plan, sorry if it wasn't clear!

Don't listen to the jokers, everyone knows that the count stops at midnight east coast time*.

*vote counting only stops if Trump is winning
