2024 U.S. Elections | Trump wins

So, instead giving Trump rope to hang himself, by reminding people how annoying and unhinged he is, he will just be muted.

Not sure this is good.

No, it's great. He won't be able to handle that kind of censure and will go bonkers right there on live TV.

And it will be ignored that he and his team agreed to the parameters. They will still act like censorship victims and need cash for the crooked CNN out to get them narrative.

Biden will be drugged up to the eyeballs to help him get through…not the abuse from trump…but the mere physical act of being on stage for an hr

I'm not joking...

There's

Not in Europe. All I get live is surfing, golf and climbing.

Well, not in Norway in any case.

I would guess it's live on CNN's YouTube channel as well? At any rate, I'll be watching it tomorrow.

Feels like a transcendental event, doesn't it? Like we'll be able to watch the fall of western civilization. If we pay for Max.

I wonder if the romans had little milestones like this one. Maybe Commodus at the theatre.

It’s just called Max now. CNN have a streaming partnership with them so it’s no surprise it will air on the platform.

Yeah I just thought it was funny the MAX app sent a pop up ad on the phones to remind us (chileans?) to tune in for this crap, just like they do for House of the Dragon or any top HBO show currently on air.

No effort to hide the fact US democracy (and majority of democracies to be fair) are no more than a TV show for dummies while the real people running things are nowhere to be seen.

Apparently 70% of the voters will be tuning in to the debate & 20% of those people feel that their choice could change with the debate happenings / victor.

You got me. It's 17%.

Why would you discount these figures?
Because i know it was 17%. Joking

Nah, i dont think 17% are enough interested to see a political debate and at the same time not know enough of who is trump and biden to not have a decision made.

It sounds to me that they are hiding the embarrasment of their already made up decision behind a political monocle and cigar appearance

I think Joe Biden is an absolute fecking cnut, and if Trump is on it tonight, surely it will be the end of Biden's bid for a second term?

You got double haters, Haley supporters, ethnic minorities, & those who are very nascent following the campaigns. You have to remember, we've never had a debate this early before. We are in completely uncharted territory. We're only a week into summer. Labor Day typically signals when those who haven't thought a whit about the campaign finally start paying attention. The uniqueness of this debate signals to me that there is still uniqueness in those following their candidate of choice that can turn them on or off.

Hopefully Biden can break the curse of the incumbent always losing the first debate, a curse that goes back to Kennedy v. Nixon in 1960 (that debate was odd, those who were only listening to the debate said Nixon won, those who watched the debate said Kennedy won).

One debate loss, especially the first one, will hardly get Biden jettisoned from the campaign.

Why would it be? There is still around four months until the election. Plenty of stuff is going to happen in between, including more debates.

Is Scott about to become the VP pick? Suddenly has a partner to parade to the right wing media just days before the expected VP announcement by Trump.

Debates are a waste of time and have zero impact on who people decide to vote for. Hillary crushed Trump in her debates with him and still lost.

CNN have a 2 minute delay. So they can edit the bits where Biden chatters incoherently about nothing.

Not sure this is good.

I kinda find it hilarious. He'll be over there moving his hands and lips but no sound. Then when he's on mic again he'll just whine and complain and get muted again.

It's gunna be a walk in the park for Biden. He's got limitless amounts of ammunition. Trump's got "you're old", he'll no doubt resort to just trying to disrupt it somehow, his options are limited with muted mic's though.
