2024 U.S. Elections | Trump v Harris

Don't feed the troll...

Always amazes me how the right scream about their rights being taken away and yet support initiatives to take other people's rights away.

"The Big Guy" is just a dirty old politician, but sure since the Republicans are bringing it up let's dismiss it.

By the way, no one ever accused Obama or Bernie of corruption. With Joe it just doesn't stop.

Must be the Republicans then
The hell are you on about? It just doesn't stop? Joe Biden has been a politician for vastly longer than you've been on Earth, and only now, well sorry a week before an election, does magical mystery evidence of his constant corruption emerge? With Rudy Giuliani finding it?

A year later we know...what exactly? The ONLY thing the GOP apparatus has done in the past f*cking year is desperately claw through the dumpster behind Joe Biden's son's house praying to their all-loving God that something with even a whiff of corruption can be found.

It's utterly mind-blowing me to that someone can type sentences so coherently and yet so entirely miss any sense of logic or context. But I guess that's where we are now.

The same people saying Joe Biden is constantly corrupt say that our kids get autism from George Soros space lasers.

A glimpse into the business prowess of the candidate @iamking admires. Just imagine what this level of excellence would do to Putin, Xi, and Kim.

Wow, he became a billionaire on a company that never had any revenue. Literally zero dollars in revenue from incorporation to it dissolved. Business genius indeed.

Stupidly I had actually assumed that he made his money from an actual business.

And they ban me to say what we should do to billionaires

Sen. Mitch McConnell appears to freeze again at a Kentucky event

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell appeared to freeze again during a gaggle with reporters in Covington, Kentucky, stopping for more than 30 seconds after he was asked if he would run for re-election.
The Kentucky Republican previously froze during a press conference on Capitol Hill in July. McConnell, 81, was silent for 19 seconds during that episode before being escorted away from the cameras. He returned shortly thereafter and continued his press conference, telling reporters, “I’m fine.”
When it became apparent that McConnell had frozen again on Wednesday, an aide came up to him and asked, “Did you hear the question, senator?” McConnell continued to be unresponsive.

Ancient bastard needs to go sit down somewhere he has done enough harm anyway.

You guys shouldn't give this dude any more attention.

Isn't that similar to what Elizabeth Holmes got thrown in jail for?

If India were to be (hypothetically) invaded in the Himalayas and in the northern provinces by China while he is POTUS, I swear Vivek would give away the lost territory to China and force the Indian government to stop fighting back just because peace is important. Considering what he already said about Ukraine needing to concede lost territories, that is a direct metaphor to the scenario in the previous sentence. Let's see how that would fly if Vivek tries to sell that idea to the Indian-American community.

That's a good way of putting it, except for the fact that most in the Indian-American community are likely already opposed to him.

Indeed. Vivek is just so pitiful that I ask myself how he doesn't put more than one brain cell in action to think about possible scenarios being operated on the basis of his own words.

Vivek is a publicity stunt. His only goal is to ensure he can get paid gigs as a talking head on the news circuit for the next few years to feed his own vanity.

I'd say that was true before he started to become the heir to the throne instead of Meatball Ron. It's definitely possible that there's going to be President Vivek at some point.

And Trump started like this, I don't think that even himself thought he had a chance at the presidency. The only negative for Vivek for GOP voters is:

True, but they get to convince themselves that they're not racist forever by voting for him. At the very least they could go with "he's one of the good ones", the eternal refuge of racist sports and entertainment consumers.

Yeah, surely they can spin it to that point... It is just scary that these people are even considered for a national debate, let alone being the front runner of GOP if Trump goes to prison.

GOP is a fight to who can be more insane to appeal recknecks and conspiracy theorists

We'll see. I don't think he has the substance or mass appeal required. He's an attention seeker who should crumble under the microscope.

Trump had the benefit of years of notoriety and a hit TV show that endeared him to the voting public. Vivek has none of that and, as you note, is the wrong colorway. :nervous:

Trump got the nomination of the GOP at his firs speech when he said all about mexicans being rapist, muderers and all the wall schtick. If he would said something more bland and have the same discourse as minimike, he would never been the nominee.

The more you stir the shitpot of the insanity, the more likely are to get elected. boebert and MGT were no one but they stir the pot of Qanon and MAGA crazyness and they there are

IMO, if they can spin the " you see? we are not racist" card with Vivek, he can absolutely be the GOP nominee if Trump gets indicted and barred to run for president

Nah, he got the nomination when he announced he was in the running, all off the back of his fame.

If he was a nobody billionaire* he'd have got nowhere even stirring the shitpot of insanity

*Pretend billionaire in his case.

Maybe, anyway, currently Vivek has no opposition from the other contenders bar Trump

Well, and he’s a Hindu. The godless Democrats haven’t even ran an openly non-christian candidate yet

So one of the bad mexicans. Yeah, it will be hard to sell Vivek to the GOPers. Trump is their saviour

You dont win anything in republican if you use your brain cell.

Getting their votes is a race to the bottom. Trump is the first to actually speaks with them in languages they understand. Lock her up. Crooked Hillary. Etc

These are the republicans demography. No matter how grotesque Trump is, he has shown what it takes to win the MAGA base and now everyone follow suit, with a sprinkle of just slightly different flavor.

And this is not getting better, the next republican candidate and the next and the next after has to be as crazy as Trump. Good luck finding a reasonably sane Republican going for the POTUS and winning the primary in the near future

The problem isn't that all Republican voters are nutters (despite there being lots of nutters) but that the sane ones make excuses for Trump and his ilk and mainly carry on voting Republican. Thankfully it looks like there are enough floating voters, who Trump keeps alienating more and more, to keep him out of power if he is the candidate next election.

Off course. But even if say 20% of them are nutters. Can any Republican candidate win without catering to them?

Even as now they're losing voters fast because most of them are aging and probably dying. While the big democratic cities are receiving immigrants by the droves both illegal and legally which will probably be inclined to vote Dem anyway.

The GOP wont take this lying down and the next 10-20 years would be interesting

I find it utterly bizarre that in a developed country being an atheist makes you, in effect, unelectable to high office.

Some (big) religious sectors of US dont give much better image than the taliban. US law simply doesnt allow them to be as barbaric

Who will the nutters vote for if the republican candidate is less insane though? You don't want to actively alienate them I guess but without the floating voters' support you are screwed (I very much hope).

I realise that it isn't your main point, but the pedant in me is telling me to say that I doubt illegal immigrants are allowed to vote.

As for Mitch, i'm not one of those who thinks its funny that he is having major health issues at his old age, but neither do i care.

You have seen all these horrible stories of kids/teens having to give forced birth after rape and so on, now who's fault is that? Mitch McConnell, the individual with the single most blame in all of this.

So no, i'm not going to feel pity for this objectively horrible person.

Now don't worry, he will get the best health care possible, the same healthcare he has been working his whole life denying others, so yeah.

Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy said if he is elected, he would propose a plan to let Russia keep all territory the country has taken since it invaded Ukraine unprovoked in February 2022.
Ramaswamy said his proposal would force Russia to disengage from its military alliance with China. He also claimed that last year’s Nord Stream pipeline sabotage was the handiwork of the U.S.

The horseshoe is real. Basically the same drivel you read on Twitter "socialist' threads.

I think what we’re seeing right now is the GOP taking any desperate step they can, there not just standing up they’re jumping.

They might not get power back for decades.
