2024 U.S. Elections | Trump v Harris

Thanks for dropping 30m on this race, Chuck.

This is fecking political malpractice. Sure, Hogan was a popular governor, but MD is a deep deep blue state with one of the highest level of education attainment in the US.

Just awful to see this happening to American women in the year 2024.

Texas, if you vote blue, Trump and Cruz will be gone. Please do it.

For the record, i never hear Cruz say it was up to the people of Texas, he keeps saying its up to the legislature, which is gerrymandered to shit, i reckon.

Also, thanks for dropping God know how much money into Montana, even if Tester pulls of this miracle, he never needed this much money, so its political malpractice either way.
There will be a decent amount of split tickets in there though, but not nearly enough for him to win.

Allred has done really well with fundrasing in Texas, but its a really big state, so he could have needed that money much more.

Yep. Look at the way they dilute the urban San Antonio vote with CD28 and the one green one to the right of it by bringing in all the rural counties down to the boarder:

The sad thing is, because of the church takeover of hospitals, this can happen in states that allow abortions. California files a lawsuit against a religious hospital that did something similar.

Religious hospitals? What the actual feck? I mean, I've heard of rogue doctors or pharmacies owned, worked or ran by those with strict religious beliefs that they refuse to go against at work but I've never heard of all out religious hospitals. I'm not surprised though, more that I hadn't heard of them before really.

Surely a religious hospital should take anyone and everyone? I mean that's one of the absolute core principles of religions isn't it? It's also what the Constitution says numerous times too. All created equal, love thy neighbours, help the poor......

Its high time to tax the churches in the US, they have done blatant political stuff for decades, but nobody wants to go there, as it is political suicide.

I just hope they are voting party lines. I am flooded with nasty anti-Alsobrooks ads and I hope it's not making an impact.

The Mormon church has over $100billion in its investment portfolio

Collins ran ahead of Trump by 18 pts in ME in 2020, that's probably why Ds got spooked when they saw Hogan running, but Hogan would need to outrun Trump by like 25 pts there to win, in a state that doesn't have a lot of wwc low edu voters!

You're probably right but I think marshalling all benefits in favor of legalized abortion is a good thing overall. Which reminds of this:

“Legalized abortion is estimated to have reduced violent crime by 47% and property crime by 33% over this period, and thus can explain most of the observed crime decline,” Donohue and Levitt write.
Sooo…eugenics!

I’ve reached the point where I consider anyone who takes the time to vote for Trump to be either an idiot or a cnut.

Just listened to a podcast where they interviewed two women who were convinced fraud happened in 2020 and will happen again (unless Trump wins). No evidence, though, just Trump’s words.

The man is ridiculous, and the fact that he won the Presidency once and is about to again in the the richest and most powerful country in the world speaks volumes about it’s wealth distribution, two-party system and educational level.

Meanwhile a pregnant teenager from Texas has died after being refused emergency treatment in THREE hospitals. That poor girl. It's just so sad this could happen in this day and age. fecking disgusting.

Not good timing at all and certainly not great optics for Trump.

Pro-life indeed

I expect Hogan to get 10-15% better than the average Republican. That would put him at about 45%, give or take. Maybe 47%.

Alsobrooks is not a particularly strong candidate, but I would be shocked if she doesn’t get here 53-55%, let alone 50.1% .

As someone said, this is one of the most educated states in the country, and there are so many people who live within 30-60 of DC and Baltimore that whatever other counties do won’t swing the election to the GOP candidate.

Wait what? Churches control certain hospitals now in the States?

Honestly, handmaid's tale is slowly becoming reality or something.
Churches and religious organizations have always run/controlled hospitals in the US, it's not a new thing

Don't often post this sort of stuff, but man, Sam Harris made this weasel squirm.

Somehow, Ben Shapiro is the one with a huge following, and Harris with a much smaller one by comparison, sad stuff.

What do you mean? I don't have the context I think.
There's an open Senate seat race in Maryland, a 65-35 Democratic state. Republicans persuaded Larry Hogan, a popular 2 term ex governor there to run, and the DSCC/WinSenate PAC that fund Dem Senate candidates have dropped ~ 30m into that race despite it being safer than safe. Now we have early vote data that shows a similar environment to 20 or better, meaning the fund have been diverted from more critical races, including OH, TX and possibly FL, as well as the 3 seats in the Blue Wall.
