What do you think these voters will do instead - vote for a 3rd party candidate or simply not vote? Because even though Biden may not be progressive enough for a lot of people on the left, surely most of them will realize that Trump will still be significantly worse.
Yeah most is the key word.
This is pretty much what it will boil down to. Anyone who currently plans on voting Biden isn't likely to change their minds because they know how incredibly destructive a 2nd Trump term would be, to where any grass roots support progressives and/or lefties have mustered over the past few years, would never get realized because Trump would pack every institution with so many loyalists to where Democracy wouldn't matter anymore.

No matter who wins in November, it is very difficult to imagine a peaceful aftermath. If Trump wins, the opposition will point to voter suppression and outside interference, and if Biden wins, Trump will point to voter fraud and the deep state. Either way people will take to the streets and it could get even more ugly.

That's quite likely. Especially if a scenario like this were to actually happen - where Trump looks like he may have won in a landslide due to in person day of results, then only to find he loses due to all the mail in votes that get counted in the hours/days after the election. He would almost certainly reject the results, litigate, and incite his sheep to carry out protests and violence.

Can't say I'm surprised. Trump talks a great game when it comes to the military but his actions have been rather appalling, from publicly throwing good men under the bus to commuting scumbags like Eddie Gallagher.
The lack of any type of response to the Russian bounties on U.S. troops probably didn't help either.

Much of the military has historically leaned towards Republicans out of self-interest (better pay raises, benefits etc), so many of them still view voting Republican in those terms.

Have you been following up til now? Its already civil war, we have a 17 year old who crossed state lines, killed two people who were legally protesting and injured more and the Trump Admin, local police and mainstream (not only right wing) media have condoned his actions and justified them.
There is absolutely no way it’s beyond Barr to arrest a Democrat politician on bullshit charges. It doesn’t matter if they get dropped, he gets sued and subpoenas are dished out to find out how the investigation and charges came about, they will ignore them and the damage will be done.
