This is a consequence of extreme policing of any sentiment deemed to be anti-trans by certain sections in the left.

Or it’s the result of the right making it such an uncomfortable world for trans people to live in that people on the left have sometimes been a little exuberant in their protection

Nah its just neoliberalism.

Warren views the wrongs of the political system as being a bunch of corrupt individuals ruining it for the rest of us because they aren't playing by fair rules. Her plan is make stricter rules and put in place ''better'' individuals. So it makes sense that her views on trans issues come down to asking an individual trans person to decide if potentially the new administration is better than the last one.

Expecting Bernie to win Iowa, although you wouldn't know by these odd polls in the lead up

Im expecting him to win in the first count - genuinley not sure what will happen if there is then something like 15% of votes to redistrubute - gut feel he gets enough of the yang gang to hold on but it might be tighter

Tablet Magazine has an article criticisng Bernie's description of his father as a "Polish" immigrant arguing that "the chances of mistaking the Brooklyn-born socialist and Larry David doppelgänger for an ethnic Pole seemed slim."

Is the ultimate argument, then, that Jews are not Poles, that the Polish identity does not apply? Some might say this is a dangerous road to go down, but I'm sure the good folks at Tablet know better! :)

Deeper in, we have
has singled out the Jewish state for censure in other ways, lambasting the current Israeli government as “racist,

which is untrue, he has harsher criticisms for Saudi Arabia and at times Russia as well. As for calling governments racist, he did so with the current Indian govt as well, which, by the "exceptionalism" standard means he is Hinduphobic as well.

A nice nugget here especially in retrospect:
When Omar asserted that her House colleagues had been bribed by the Israel lobby
The first major negative ad against Bernie came from "Democrat Majority for Israel"

The rest of the articles is the degrees-of-separation and guilt-by-association stuff which in large quantity helped destroy Corbyn, but I think Bernie is better positioned to withstand them.

All the way up until the end, a lot of people highly identified with his campaign were urging people to vote third party, urging people not to vote,” Mrs. Clinton said in an interview with Emily Tisch Sussman for her podcast “Your Primary Playlist.” “It had an impact.”
Who is Emily Tisch Sussman you ask....

I think the more relevant question on possible double standards is if & how he refers to racism (or visions of ethnic cleansing) from major anti-Israel players like Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran? Does it play a role in his portrayal of the conflict, did it in the past?

Hindus in Kashmir were murdered and driven out of their homes, from many thousands (who had been there for centuries), a few dozen remain. Whether it is a genocide I don't know, it is certainly ehtnic cleansing. The terrorists who drove them out, with local support, were funded and trained in Pakistan. The overall dispute itself is between two nuclear-armed powers, one of which has initiated 3 wars, and that one isn't India. Previous Pakistani leaders have talked about the inherent weakness of cowardly Hindus and of waging eternal war to destroy India; the terrorism seems to be a natural outgrowth of that strategy.

None of these were mentioned by Bernie in his statement on the elected Indian govt.
...

Or maybe some countries, with close ties to the West, or a total military advantage over the populations they are trying to control, get a lot of coverage.

And what is Bernie's plan? To get rid of the system all together? US has passed progressive policies within the system itself. So yeah, putting in better individuals to formulate policy favourable to LGBTQI+ community is going to make a change. Problem with Obama was not that he did not try a completely upheaval pf the system but that he put in the same old establishment corrupt in charge of the institutions. Problem here with Warren's plan is she is giving into the worst kind of social media activists even if they belong to progressive side.

The projection from these people is breathtaking.

In the weeks between Obama surpassing the delegate threshold and his formal nomination at the convention, these PUMAs appeared dozens of times on cable news to defend Clinton and to promise mischief at the nominating convention and in the general election. Their anger epitomized a wider unrest that has been mostly forgotten as Obama went on to win two general elections: In the days before the convention, only 47 percent of Clinton supporters said they were certain to vote for Obama.

I know little about the Kashmir situation and take your word for it - you're at least open about the bias then. I think that as a basis for analysis and political practice, this is fatal. And all the more remarkable because it's completely unnecessary*, as there's no logical connection between acknowledging factors of anti-Hindu hatred and violence and calling out the Indian government on their wrongdoings. Applying this method to the Israeli-Palestinian (and wider ME) conflict can only end up in an ideological car crash.

*depending on motives, of course

In that case Hillary won this round, she now has the green light to attack more without response.

Probably a wise move by Tlaib to deescalate since it wouldn't help hers or Sanders cause in any way. Dems need to find ways to unite if they want to win in Nov.

If the Democrats want to win in November, they need to put a muzzle on entitled Hilary and hide her away with no social media access or speaking engagements. The more she is in the public eye the better Trump's chances to win are going to be

Hilary has had 2 or 3 unprovoked attack interviews before this, she is not waiting to split. She sees the danger of the left and is doing her best to stop it, or she personally hates Bernie and is willing to take the aprty down for that. It's not like the media is going to stop covering her if Bernie's people don't respond.

She shouldn't be doing it either (imo). Both sides need to knock it off and focus getting this guy out of office.

Everyone knows Alex’s great bit about his hate being pure. If you don’t know the story, it’s a tradition that Alex inherited from his editor Jim Goode who’d test Alexander’s morale and commitment to the good fight by asking him if his “hate” for the powerful was truly pure. Alex would then put the same question to his interns at the Nation. One such intern, a young Ed Miliband, soon to be the next Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, replied with shock that he did not, in fact, hate anyone. As Alex put it: “It’s all you need to know.”

The lack of hate(Which acts as a cover for not really wanting to fundamental change things)will be the downfall of this new western left.
