Any attempt to choose someone from the political fringes would be a losing choice imo. He will need someone with a bit of credibility and gravitas who could actually be POTUS.

Sanders VP pick is meaningless. The only way he "reaches the mainstream" as you say is if Estaishment media gets behind his candidacy 100% the way conservative media got behind Trump once he was the nominee.

He’s going to be Bernie Weinstein at this rate.

And...
Done

(V heffernan is a deranged woman who wrote that Hillary is "light itself", "beyond the presidency", "in the tier of Ben Franklin and MLK", and "Athena", and this week was asked by the LA Times to write about Bernie's chauvinist attempt at a handshake.)

Donald Trump, welcome to the resistance.

The interesting bit about Trump talks about Sanders is he rarely insults him and instead frames him as a sort of nutty professor who is "wacky" or "crazy". Its pretty obvious he doesn't fear him at all.

He’s trolled and talked shit about many people that he doesn’t even need to be afraid of though so I doubt it’s all around fear. You also have to consider that he’s purposely not insulting Bernie as an attempt to sow division among Democrats. Get the Bernie Bros all riled up and all. Anyway, he’ll be ramping up the bs if Bernie gets the nomination.

Fredo and MSNBC are already doing his job for him.

You’re using that because you know he deems it to be an ethnic slur and takes offence. By all means criticise Cuomo but there’s better ways than resorting to racism.

It’s a term used to insult italian Americans.

Is it a slur? Yes
It it reserved for Italians? Yes

If it was a derogatory term used to describe Jews, Hispanics, Chinese or Native Americans as weak and dumb then it would be considered racist. Either you condemn them all or you condemn none. You’re just pissing your pants because you can’t stand Cuomo.

I'm using it because I don't believe it is an "ethnic slur" in any way whatsoever and it highlights how precious that asshat thinks he is. Calling him the 'failed younger brother' (IE Fredo) is not an ethnic slur.

Source: I have Italian family members that thought he was an absolute moron for pulling a "racist card" on that.

Its not reserved for Italians either. The few times I have actually heard it in the wild it was used by people talking smack about their own race (Latino on Latino, Persian on Persian, etc).

I can smell your fear Raoul :D

2 good things came from the CNN debate.
Firstly they cut that con man Yang. Now he and Trump can be on a realty show and fire each other.
Secondly it finally helped shed light on Warren and her litany of lies about herself.

Perhaps in the alternate universe where you dwell. To most, it was just another debate that didn't move the needle for any of the candidates.

It really shows both the strength and weakness of liberal democracy that if Sanders wins the presidency in 2020, thousands if not millions of people will believe a Stalinist is now the leader of the 'free world'' and importantly they'll mostly be accepting of it.

I don't think he would deal with much of that beyond people currently in Trump's base. He would however have to deal with the entire Republican party and half of the Democratic party not supporting his policies, which would make it next to impossible to get anything substantial passed into law. Decent chance we would end up with a slightly better version of the ACA and more or less a similar result to what we saw in Obama's last year.

Padot is among those Trump voters who would like to see reform of the health system but he doesn’t have any more confidence in the Democrats than the Republicans to do it.

“What’s really stupid is that there are countries all around the world that have healthcare for everybody. One of those has to be the best. So just copy that. How hard is that? But no, this is America. We’ve gotta reinvent the wheel and it’s not gonna work,” he said.

But then Padot is not impressed by any of the Democratic candidates.

“I don’t think any of them are like Obama. That guy, he came out of nowhere. The guy could talk. He’s very charismatic. I don’t see that on any of these people,” he said. “Joe Biden, I think his time has gone. Bernie [Sanders] seems sharp but he’s too socialist – him and Warren. Their ideas won’t play well in Michigan or Nebraska or Iowa.”

Most likely.

My point was more that it's insane millions of people will wake up the morning after the 2020 election and go to work, fully believing that Stalin 2.0 has control of the american military. The same can be said over here in Britain with Corbyn, where for million of people they thought the last election was a choice between the tories or handing over the nuclear button to the I.R.A.

It should be concerning for everyone that there are huge sections of Western society which seem on the verge of having a mass collective breakdown.

Cop out of the year to not endorse Warren alone. Spineless NYT editorial board. My grandad sent me a text linking that article and 5 laughing emojis, which about sums it up.
