He still thinks he won. There are no words for this thing.

He doesn’t.

It’s all just a grift to get more money out of his base. Latest numbers are at over $210m raised since the election. I’d imagine there’s some loophole as it wasn’t an election campaign they contributed to that he can funnel it to private accounts to clear debts.

...he’s just burning down the country whilst he’s at it.

This could get interesting alright.
It was in late December 1860 that SC seceded, followed by a bunch more in the following months.
Now I'm not saying I expect the same this time, but if they want to go then let them go this time but pull all federal dollars out of their states.

Wouldn’t mind at all.

It’s as likely to happen as the Texas lawsuit was to pass. It’s simply bluster.
Yeah, purely hypothetical. Just make sure the crazies dont get any of the nukes because God may tell them to do something with them.

It wouldn't bother me either. It could get interesting for a while, right up till when they realise they need uncle sam to bail them out. And if they figure they don't then that's good too.
Being in those places is like being in a different world anyway. A 3rd world in some cases.

thedonald.win has posters already claiming it's time for suicide attacks to ignite a civil war. surely "the agencies" must be looking into this for inauguration day plots?

there was a texas secession blog posted here after the 2012 election, fun read.

Wow. Never heard of that site until now.

It’s quite something.

So, do I understand correctly that the House has to confirm the votes of the Electoral College - or something like that? What does that mean exactly?

I know nothing weird is going to happen now, as the Dems have a majority and there are still plenty of sane Republicans. But in theory, would it be possible for the House to reject the outcome of the election at that moment? If so, what would happen? Is this a way Republicans could simply elect their own President in the future, next time they hold a majority there?

Texas calling to secede after every lost Presidential election is like United choking whenever the pressure is on nowadays. It’s inevitably predictable.

They would be doing us all a huge favour if they really do it again though.

It's astonishing to think that this man appointed people to the SCOTUS in anticipation of all of this - and all so he could keep his job and not have to face all these legal cases which are waiting for him. He overlooked the fact that even if a SC judge has very conservative views, they are primarily there to maintain the rule of law and they know that.

He is actually trying to break the whole country's legislative system just to avoid having to leave the WH.

It’s even more astonishing to think that Trump & his flock really believed that Trump’s simply nominating the judges would give him their judicial subservience.

Civil war on subs between Republicans who voted for Trump but still out party above Trump and die hard MAGAs.
