2020 US Elections | Biden certified as President | Dems control Congress

A segment run by the most liberal channel in the US:
https://www.msnbc.com/stephanie-ruh...r-frames-herself-as-an-underdog-1446746691705

Take-home, from the anchor combined with 2 of 3 guests (especially the blond woman, don't know her name)
Klobuchar is pragmatic, tells the hard truths, "hopefully her approach wins", and can win Fox viewers while the rest of the party is anti-Israel, anti-airplane, "pro-infanticide" (direct quote), anti-Semitic, anti-prosecutor and will be a punchline for Trump's rallies.
Biden and Amy can pick up the never-Trump Republicans, the grand strategy that propelled HRC to victory.

Only 1 guy pushed back, correctly pointing out that Harris and fecking Cory Booker ("Obama is too harsh on Wall St") aren't leftist.

They're snakes, a perfect foil to the relentless rightward push from Fox.

Bonus - at the start, the anchor suggests that because Klobuchar is a woman, she was somehow forced or especially able to say "I'm an underdog". Apparently no male candidates have ever said this. Fortunately the guest pushed back, but I just googled and literally the first result.

edit - the white male guest (sorry, dont remember any names) totally capitulated on his stance halfway through the segment so now I'm really confused.

The pace of this is insane. Following the Dem‘s nomination race is both exhausting and extremely interesting. Anyway thanks to everyone in this thread who keep the people informed who are less involved with this stuff. There are some fantastic contributions in this thread.

I‘ve discussed with a friend today that Trump has made some horrible decisions during his 2 years in office, but his incompetency has prevented him from doing even more damage.

From the perspective of someone from the outside, the 2 worst things he did was deciding for the US to withdraw from the Paris Agreement and from the Iran nuclear deal.

Both treaties still have lots of supporters among european policy makers so it‘s not like they are dead forever just because the US had a knee jerk reaction.

My question would be: Which democratic candiates are most likely to decide for the US to re-enter these agreements?

At this point, it feels like everything is focused on topics closer to home like identity, equality etc.

Who are these people and why do they think they are qualified to run this country?

 What a bitch! I mean, if the "I'd like to speak with the manager" haircut didn't give it away already... Thank goodness she'll never get close to the nomination.

1. "She berated her aide": Well, do you know a boss who would congratulate the aide for losing the utensils? Please show me that boss. Seriously! ("You had one job!!!")

2. She used her comb to eat the salad: So, she is resourceful. That's a good thing.

3. She asked the aide to clean the comb: Yeah, that's what "aides" are for.

This is actually a nonstory. When the press wants to belittle someone, it is amazing what kind of (non)stories they can find!

Why are you defending Amy klobuchar? She has zero chance of even competing so these articles are just there for senseless fun at the expense of a joke candidate

This is a pretty strange thing to ask in a thread solely dedicated to discussing all aspects of the 2020 election. Her being or not being a serious candidate has no bearing on whether or not a story is bullshit. Feel free to disagree with him on it being a "nonstory", but don't shoot him down for making that argument in the first place.

The comb story, innocuous as it may seem to some, is probably the tip of the iceberg about a litany of similar stories about Klobuchar that will come out over time where she mistreated her staffers. As to point three, that's actually not what aides are for - in fact there are ethics regulations in place to stop government officials from using their aides to perform personal tasks like picking up their dry cleaning, buying them personal items at nearby drugstores etc.

Dana White (no not that one), recent had an investigation started against her for mistreating staffers by having them carry out personal errands for her.

If Klobuchar has aides coming out of the woodwork for things she did a decade ago, you can bet that she has been consistently doing this sort of thing since then and there will be many more instances of disgruntled aides leaking it to the press.

It's a good thing he can't vote. however he did say he has got an army of relatives for whom he can act like an instagram influencer
I didn't say an army.
Imagine how checked out you would have to be to take advice from Cal.
Better than taking advice from the likes of you.

The point is they don't care at all and wouldn't vote otherwise, they're retired and changes in policy doesn't really affect them.

just watched MSNBC for 5 minutes.
Everyone attacking Bernie from the start.

He does not understand the plight of African Americans
Does not understand the plight of women.

FFS. He has been the only one who has been speaking about the struggles of working families. The struggles Cable networks do not show.

And who actually understands their struggles? Kamala Harris?

You can feel their fear.

This election is Bernie's to lose. Expect everything to be thrown at him.

The DNC will never learn.

Have they started attacking his age yet?

What kind of comb did she use?

How did she pick up the tomatoes, croutons and lettuce?

Did she wipe the comb of hair grease before eating the salad?

What were the reactions from other passengers?

Did the aide wash the comb?

I have so many questions.

MSNBC has gone cuckoo awhile ago. I saw Rachel Maddow’s segment recently and they seem hell bent on turning everything into a Russian scandal. It wasn’t even subtle “what if Russia can access the heating in your house and turn it off in the middle of the night?”. It was straight up cringeworthy. I think most people now realise how feckless mainstream media outlets have become.

Commie Bernie is the best Bernie

I love how every "attack" video is just clips of Bernie putting forward great policy.
