I'll refine my statement: Gotta love O'Leary's marketing genius.

But nah, I actually do like him. Not like there wasn't an industry around fleecing those masses that he made massive changes to. He's no angel but I have a lot of respect for him.
Don't you mean that you have respect for his business acumen as opposed to O'Leary himself?

They just said on CNN that the Biden campaign team expect their lead in Arizona to narrow today due to votes from rural areas being counted. But then after that they fully expect their lead to grow again and ultimately they'll win the state.

So when the Arizona lead tightens later on tonight can we please not have people on here panicking and conceding to Trump whilst Baz bangs on about Betfair.

Reposting for posterity before everybody starts panicking.

Why is everyone moaning about the counting? Everyone was warned for weeks and weeks that we would have extra delays this year, due to over 100 million ballots being cast before election day and lots of states had to extend the voting deadlines for mail-in ballots.
Exactly. People just used to it being decided already.

Yeah that's fair. Basically all I know about him is connected to the business so I can't speak about him outside of that.

I think it’s not so much shock at his behaviour but shock that we’re finally at the end of his Presidency. Like when graduation day comes round and you’re hit with the ‘holy shit it’s actually time’ moment.

Call it PTSD for all of us.

This whole thing is fecking bullshit. When can anyone in the last 30 or so years remember a president or candidate complaining about rig elections before this guy?? It doesn't happen. This animal started this crap a few months ago about cheating because it would give him excuse on November 3rd to spew out to all his moronic supporters when the numbers turned against him. And his knuckle dragging supporters buy every word of it. Not a horrible president, he's a horrible human being.

This whole situation makes you realise that nothing is new under the sun.

Hegel would have a field day with the current state of the world.

.........

I wonder what it would take for him to speak out or what effect it would have. W is retired, that is what those closest to him say and it has been floated in the press that he doesn't want to involve himself in politics

But I do wonder what the Venn Diagram of Trump supporters and those Republicans/Centrists who supported Bush would look like and what, if any, influence W would have with Trump supporters

I hope George Bush says something like " Yo Donny what's this shit are you talking about?" What kind of shite have you been smoking? I like to get some of those".

It’s likely to heavily lean republican though. 6000-2000 isn’t outside the realms of possibility.

You are assuming that a) these are all military ballots (they include expats, which on the whole lean D), b) military overwhelmingly pro Trump this cycle (he holds about 10% lead in surveys) and c) they are returned anywhere near that number on time.

The 8000 is just the number of ballots requested and sent out, it’s not the actual number they are guaranteed to receive.

Clayton at 82-17 Biden in the next batch will be critical.

But apparently it's a mix of military and expat. Sure that I'd bet that Georgians (or whatever they're called) abroad are more military than expat (although Coca-cola personnel probably account for a few too), but not 100%.

Tucker Carlson trying very hard to discourage networks from declaring Biden before all votes are counted

5724 votes remained in Clayton, used to be represented by John Lewis. 80-20 there and Biden leads.

You can’t make this stuff up.

8,500 is what’s been requested. I’m just saying 6,000-2,000 wouldn’t be completely outside the realm of possibility. Georgia is going to be very tight and Biden does need a couple thousand lead in my opinion going into tomorrow.

     But the betting odds mean that they have some insider information!!

That and genuine sadness at the president of the USA basically destroying their reputation on the world stage and shitting on the very values the country is built on

It is sad.

Can we please end Trump by developing new standards? I hate the guy but the reputation, by any reasonable means, should have been ended in modern times by Bush needlessly invading and murdering Iraqis on a lie. Then further lowered by Obama refusing to hold the Bush administration to account for war crimes in this regard. The last thing we really need as outsiders is to think that just because Trump is gone that somehow we have reached a great America again. If we are being reasonable humans then Trump has greatly lowered the bar of a bar that was already lowered by most presidents in my lifetime. Can we now say that they are no longer trusted or allowed be over international law. If they won't investigate war criminals then we will through he Geneva convention and feck their influence on the World. Now is the time to demand that they are held to the standards that they signed up to. That means international investigations into their border policy and incarceration of asylum seekers, their propensity for interfering in other countries governing for their own gains including wars carried out in this name. Too long they have been allowed to be above international law for me.
