If Fox News calls Nevada (as other outlets are expected to do) they'll have to give it to Biden as well

So, Nevada guy saying they'll have 63k mail ballots counted by 10 am tomorrow. It's 10 am in Nevada right now; is counting 63k votes really going to take 24 hours? I'm starting to suspect that it's really only one person doing the counting in places like Nevada and Georgia.
I get the impression than in NV they're just working regular hours or something similar. So they started counting now, and then sometime like 6PM there they'll stop. Then they'll sit on the information for another 16 hours before telling anyone

I haven't read the whole thread. Why is this taking so long in small states when it's been done in bigger states? Lack of resources? Archaic procedural rules?

Different states start counting at different times. And states that aren't close are called way earlier, as the last x% of votes don't matter. Eg. California and Utah have only counted 74% and 80% respectively, but they aren't close, so it's easy to call.

Thankfully it is only 6 EV

They probably won't unless they recant the AZ call. Too much at state to call the damned thing yet.

Gotcha, thanks.

That's what I was trying to express before. Given its sensitivity and importance, why doesn't Election Commission hire more counters, or fly some in from another centre?

At this point we'll all just have to wait until the actual electors meet on Dec 14th to see what happens.

There is no electoral commission like in a normal country. Every state, even every county at times has different organisation and rules.

Probably had REALLY hoped to not play a decisive role.

unless there is a flip in PA or GA, it will be nevada deciding the election and if it's going to take till the weekend, it's going to give a lot of ammunition to the nutters to do something.

550k votes remaining in PA, Biden is projected to take around 400k of that. It should be a fairly comfortable win in the end.

Yeah think the GOP need to reign him in. I can see this costing lives, not that he'll accept responsibility for it.

which nutters and what might they do?

It was actually decent-good. He did make gains in the entire state. Then Miami-Dade fecked me hard. Cubans...

There are mistakes which I can obviously learn from, but I think it's not quite time to start the post mortem. Today we celebrate.

(Chiefly about just how good the GOP ground game was for new registrations; there was a lot of new/different trump votes out there)

I was only messing around of course. I’m still somehow skeptical, can’t bring myself to be happy just yet.

I'm with you. Stomach rumbling (that might be the cajun pasta leftovers I had chef went hard on heat this time) and heart racing. Not at all comfortable.

Was that meant to be their 'big annoucment'?
No, that was the Pennsylvania decision that their observers can watch the counting from closer range. That decision has since been suspended or reversed; reports seem a bit ambiguous about which.

But yeah, it was equally inconsequential and stupid, really.

Biden will be president elect by tomorrow morning (UK time) IF PA are telling the truth about finishing the count.

Not to be pedantic, but at best he will be President Elect, which is a HUGE difference. Cheeto will be able to wreck an enormous amout of damage for the next few months.
