Massive 'sliding doors' moment for recent human history. Wonder how Al Gore would have reacted to 9/11!
Arguably, Gore would have listened to intelligence reports and 9/11 may not have happened.

For Christ's sake! Can't they just shut down the whole freaking platform for just 24 hours or so? Claim they've been hacked or whatever, this is getting beyond embarassing. The guy needs to be protected against himself.
Except Trumps MO is now so predictable and normalised, I feel quite non-plussed by these squeals as it's how I'd expect him to act in this situation.

Why do posters make erroneous statements like this? Wheres your data coming from?
That particular poster is always coming out with weird comments and opinions. Some of his football opinions are out there.

It takes a long time to count a lot of states. Look at California, New York, Texas: they're all well under 90%. It's just that those states are not particularly interesting.

It takes a long time because of mail ballots, because of peculiar rules, because processing these ballots is complicated considering how many different votes they contain (President, House, Senate, whatever initiatives). With mail ballots, they have to do shit like signature matching, and scanning the ballots individually.
Not to mention, I believe in places like Wisconsin and even Pennsylvania, they were not allowed to start counting them until the day of the election or when the polls closed. It's a complicated process but, I believe they get a full month or something to count and process the ballots under federal law. It's just normally we have enough day of voting ballots which are processed quickly and results are easy to call. CNN put a good graphic out a couple of days ago about it.

I feel like Florida was pretty quick though? Maybe I'm wrong and it's just cause it was already called when I woke up yesterday.

They just said on CNN that the Biden campaign team expect their lead in Arizona to narrow today due to votes from rural areas being counted. But then after that they fully expect their lead to grow again and ultimately they'll win the state.

So when the Arizona lead tightens later on tonight can we please not have people on here panicking and conceding to Trump whilst Baz bangs on about Betfair.

This ....!

It was pretty quick, yeah. It varies massively state from state for whatever reason. I dunno. The US is a weird place.

No mail in ballots in India. All voting machines which explains the quick counting.
I think there's mail ballots, but its a very minor percentage. Mainly for civil servants and defense personnel posted outside their constituencies i think.

Finally went to sleep. Woke up and saw posters saying trump was winning multiple states. Shat myself. Then saw it was nonsense.

Wait, so GA have counted about 10,000 votes since last night?

Yeah it’s fecking BS at this point. I get it’s slow and tiresome and mundane but ...

I think the Sec of State or someone else in an electoral role in Georgia said they are counting at a rate of 3K per hour.

The leaders of different churches basically say who their followers should vote for. If they said that they should vote for Kanye W since god wills it, then most of them would. Or like the catholic church 500 years ago giving kings their right of rule through god...
Same with Biden getting endorsed by afro-american church leaders in the primary.

Yes - exactly.

Baffling (or again - semi-baffling) that this kind of shit still happens.

And that it actually (potentially, at least) makes a difference in the year 2020.

We use technology people would've considered science fiction a couple of generations ago - but positively medieval concepts are still alive and kicking (in the very areas/nations where said technology is most widespread).
