2018 Winter Olympics (Pyeongchang)

She's actually the most successful german athlete at winter games.

Today, she may still be among the top 10.

Just an awesome day at the alpine skiing as well. Much more exciting than yesterday, with some quite surprising people on the podium. Really thought Jansrud had super-g in the bag, but Mayer did great, and Feuz did as well. Shiffrin with no medal at slalom, sensational result, and one where I'd put a house on her win...if I had a house and was a moron.

Frida, daughter of Hans, always the bridesmaid...18 times second, 9 times second to Shiffrin, grabs the gold. Impressive Austrian girls too, Gallhuber with the bronze, and Schild probably missed out on even gold with that mistake on the last section.

Good stuff.

Kudos to Cologna too.

Wonder if they'll ever hold a Winter Olympics south of the equator. New Zealand or Patagonia or some shit like that.

Wouldn't that have to be much later in the year? Say September or October time? I think you would then have the issue that most northern hemisphere winter sports have been in the off season for 4 to 5 months.

That win by Ester Ledecka in the skiing was incredible. And she’s a snowboarder.

For some of us, that actually isn't that huge of a surprise.

Ok, she had some nice runs before too, some training *wins* as well, but this is still sensational. Can she win two golds in two different sports?

The BBC are putting this Elise Christie under Jess Ennis levels of expectation. Clare Balding hasn't shut up about her.

Luckily for Ennis she wasn't taking part in something as mad as speed skating.

Great win for the girls in the relay!
Love that Tiril got a medal aswell!

Lizzy Yarnold what a legend!

head first down a hill at 90mph  easy peasy

This large hill event is crazy!!

Nice mustache on the Norwegian who won bronze..

From around 9am to noon....nothing. Then at 12:00 multiple events. Dumbfecks made this schedule, I swear. (probably not, going for the money and demands from multiple tv stations - dumbfecks or cnuts, almost the same)

Seeing Christie fall again was so satisfying. At first I thought she was just going to lose which would have been boring, but she couldn't help herself and had to cause another crash. Loved it. Hopefully we see it again at the 1000m.

Dara Howell though :(

Nice relay gold today, probably the least surprising gold, even though Sweden have been good at it the last couple olympics.
Team doping second.

Really happy to see Emil Hegle Svendsen get an olympic medal, he's not won much lately.
Don't understand how Johannes Thingnes Bø can win one day, then be 20-something, the next competition.

Even though I can't really be bothered about the mens hockey tournament because it's even worse than the WC in terms of quality, it's still always so incredibly nice to beat Finland.

That’s the problem with having no NHL players
