Pretty solid performance from Gillum. He came across as cool and calm for the most part. Desantis seemed pretty nervous throughout.

Why would it be curtains for him ? He's not responsible for the election dynamics in the various Senate elections this cycle.
Agreed that bares no relation to his position but regardless of that, I Hope he’s replaced soon by someone with a bit of tenacity. If he didn’t keep getting elected as a Democrat I’m pretty sure he would have shifted his membership to the right.
The senate would have failed to be flipped for two election cycles under him. There would be calls for someone else.

He definitely needs replacing, but there's no one else who can take over from him given the current power structure of the party. The Dems will need to elect a few proper progressive Senators to put more pressure on the establishment cabal currently running the show.
With the election map for these midterms, hanging on to what they had always looked like a good result.
He doesn't have any meaningful influence over that. Its more so a referendum of how voters perceive Trump's first two years.
