I’d have paid good money to have been a fly on the wall when they “randomly” bumped into each other and shared a beer a few months back.

I assumed it was just some forced pleasantries and mild macho banter at the time but with Cohen’s flip and actions in the time since I actually think, even if Avenatti had no influence, the conversation might have been a little deeper.

To be fair to him, Cruz is a great debater. With his voting record and passed behavior, I would have had problems looking on mirror, but the motherfecker kept his own very good on the second debate.

O'Rourke is much less polished than Cruz and while he has the ability to connect with people, he also repeats so many times the same thing (yes Beto, we heard that you've been to every county of Texas) and him getting away from the question is done nowhere as efficiently as Cruz. His best moments came when it came to personal attacks on Cruz. Still he is debating for California-minded people while in Texas, and still has good numbers so it is all good. Him being the 51th Democrat senator would be such an amazing result and with a bit of luck, we wouldn't see Cruz's face in the future anymore.

I saw one article where they did I can’t remember the specifics but it was a buss full of elderly black folk. It was stopped from leaving because they didn’t have a permit to carry people to a political event.


No such law or permit exists.

There is a vast difference between the two so called lefts you mentioned.

However they are in basic agreement of a few things like wanting free healthcare and education for all and wanting the elderly to receive pensions and wanting equality for all genders and races be it in the workplace or the courts or schools or wherever.

I personally don't think that is left wing at all, I think those are the basic requirements for being a sensible, caring and rational human being.

This is what Avenatti is for. The Democrats have really lacked an effective attack dog for a long time. As a litigator and Robben/Zidane look-a-like Avenatti's best use is to be deployed to mix it up with the trolls like Tucker, Hannity and the Trump offspring.
 
I agree. Dems need someone who's willing to get dirty with the pigs fighting their coner.
Makes no sense for any Dem to mock Avenatti.
 
Thirded. I’ve said before on here that it infuriates me that the GOP are allowed to get away with their bullshit without retaliation. I love that the Dems have Avenatti to fight with the gloves off.

The county said the bus organisers were engaging in political activity which is banned in regards to county matters (they consider the election to be a county affair).

They'll find any excuse to prolong the staus quo.

Of course they will. They are shit scared, absolutely petrified of losing power. They know the changes the Dems will make and they know due to rapidly changing demographics & ideals and values, that their old-school party is under serious threat.

Why do you think McConnell has been adding judges at every level so ferociously? Or the gerrymandering and voter suppression has been so rife? Or the propaganda, fear mongering and dirty tricks campaigns have been so widespread? Why do you think the rhetoric is so anti immigrant all the time?

They know they are fighting a losing battle in the long run. They are trying to preserve what they know, and what makes them feel comfortable. They are fighting to preserve a USA and ideals that really don't exist anymore, but they are shit scared and will do anything they can to keep their little corner of the USA the way they like it. Much the same as the Brexit lot feel about the UK.

It's completely anti-progression (As is evident with the focus on coal mining and new jobs there, or the rejection of moving to solar panel production etc) it's hindering the population, the government and the country on a massive scale but many are buying the MAGA bullshit. It will eventually effect the economy negatively on a massive scale too. Trump is taking the USA backwards, not forwards and Take America Backwards Again would actually be a far more apt and fitting slogan than MAGA.

Libs and independents who call themselves progressives can see all this and want to move with the times and evolve with the way the world is going. They notice the dangers and have accepted changes have happened and more need to be made. Those MAGA fools and oldskool Republicans and Evangelical fruitcakes don't like or want change , won't accept it, fear it and will do anything and everything they can to prevent it.

Make no mistake about it. This is a war and at the moment the Republicans are winning because they are fighting dirty and their message is unified and it is speaking directly to their people.

The Dems are playing too nicely and much the same as our EU Referendum, their message is convoluted, not explained well and certainly not conveyed well, not only to their own people but also to those on the other side too. At the moment the majority seem to just be voting to stop or oppose Trump, not for any meaningful reason of which there are many that the Dems could be highlighting and explaining to the undecided or disenfranchised & apathetic voters out there.

In short. Dems need to get on point. Together. For something, real issues that matter to and effect people and not just be against Trump and the Republicans.

Exactly. And they have guns. A fecking lot of them and that is what the worry is and has been for a while now.



Jim ALMOST gets it here. It's not just the Russians to be worried about, although that is a worry because the USA being a weak asses laughing stock is obviously in their best interests. It's the gerrymandering, voter suppression and the election skullduggery that also needs to be closely monitored and clamped down on wherever possible.
