Think the whole reason why Skizzo would do that is not to declare the player and have you guessing how many managers chose the same player

Unless many people chose the same player there is a very slim chance someone to get a sheep IMO...

Nope. All link players that we have chosen this round will be blocked.
If you pick someone else link player you will get a fail. I'd imagine the best option is to do what @Moby said and make sure your pick hasn't played for more than 5 clubs if you don't want to get sheep'd.
