As opposed to the possible war with Russia Hillary will wade into?
Agreed - because people like me who only skim headlines get mislead.
It's not about making an exception for one individual. It's about maintaining the integrity of the election. They can analyze/investigate all they want without making it public. And they can impeach her in short order afterwards. But what if it comes nothing and but still changes the outcome? The world superpower has some idiot in office for four years. Oops.
If the FBI is seen as right-leaning (and, well, it's the FBI), something of this nature could be construed as Republicans using their weight to bring the election results they want. Like militaries often do in other countries. Countries that we definitely do not want to emulate. Not that I think that will be the case here; I'm looking at worst case scenario.
There hasn't been a sane normal republican candidate in a long time and I challenge you to name one. Hillary although carrying some baggage has dedicated her adult life to helping people of all kinds, she was a champion of women as Secretary of State and a superb Senator for New York. She has also had thirty years of dirty tricks used on her by people who are now orchestrating the Trump campaign and Nothing Has Stuck, nothing. People need to understand the million dollar business built to tear her down and in my opinion every day she gets stronger. She has held her tongue dealing with the most unworthy candidate for any public office in the history of this country but has used his words and actions against him while championing her policies that would help every single person in this country.
No fly zone over Syria, endless proxy action in the ME, shit-stirring with Russia, rocket shield around China. It will be glorious.
Unfortunately it is not just the headlines, there will be plenty of shit coming out of the mouths of some talking heads, people spinning into something it isn't. Of course in most cases they will be preaching to the choir. People solidly HRC will not change. People solidly Trump will not change. Anyone still fence sitting or prone to wavering back and forth depending on the tone of the narrative, they MIGHT be swayed.

This was my concern -- not direct war, because that won't ever happen. There would be mutiny in the military ranks before a nuke is fired at Russia, unless they strike first (and they never will). But proxy wars of some kind. I don't think it would happen, though.
But just feck Trump in general. Look at the two platforms -- the differences are yuuuge. In social terms, the Dems' platform is a century ahead of the GOP's.
There will be no war with Russia unless Putin continues with a path of aggression but she will put sanctions on Russia along with the international community to bring a halt to Putins authoritarian rule which he is eager to unleash on Eastern Europe.

I sound like a Russian apologist these days, but this Russian boogeyman nonsense has to stop. They have an economy which is about half the size of Germany's. Aside from the Crimean situation, there hasn't been any aggression. And there doesn't look like there will be.

Agree on Clinton, she's a poor candidate. Being that unpopular and having these e-mail and WikiLeaks issues would probably have been enough to see a candidate like Romney beat her, I think.
Your representation of the dangers of Clinton/Trump in office is inaccurate though. Clinton is by far the better option.
They do have a pea sized economy but still have probably the world's 2nd best military and are sitting atop the world's biggest pile of nukes. Not an ideal backdrop when one is dealing with a megalomaniacal dictator with small penis syndrome.
There was a youngish Republican on CNN last night and he seemed very clever, articulate and intelligent. Can't remember his name though.
I don't know if I can handle the smugness of Drumpf and his band of knuckle scraping followers and his nasty surrogates that are just gloating like crazy at the moment. I think it could be unwatchable now

Oh the damage is done already. No one can convince me of his integrity now. It was a political dick move just to regain power and stop the nation from moving to the left.
They do have a very large military, and a suspect leader, but it isn't even a particularly well funded military in relative terms. I mean the US spends roughly 10 times as much on military as the Russians do. The UK spends roughly the same amount on military as the Russians, and with far fewer troops/reserves. So I think they have an inadequate set up.
Russia, ISIS, Syria, Iran....the USA needs to get off of this permanent war-footing it's been on for the last 70 years. It's all a trick to line the pockets of rich people with defense contracts. I can't believe people still fall for it year after year after year....
