2016 US Presidential Elections | Trump Wins

Yep, that's about the long and short of it. Fingers crossed he wins!

Kid, I'm not an American and I don't live in America. I can't vote. If you want to pretend to be intelligent and argue to someone, you are looking in the wrong direction. Im just a random person who wants Trump to win. And if you can't accept other people's opinions then you need to ask your teachers to pay more attention to you when you go back to school next week

Wow, do you think you could have been anymore condescending in that post?

If theres no further explanation released, it's safe to say he's hedging on a Clinton win and pulling this stunt to alleviate the FBI's official wife receiving money/Congressional grilling.

So the DoJ thinks that FBI should just sit on evidence and delay an investigation because it could hurt Hillary's chance for presidency? Why should justice work differently for her as opposed to other people? If there is evidence, and FBI feels there is enough evidence to commence an investigation, then investigate.

This is a dick move by Comey. Media narrative already out about 'reopening'.

I bet he was under serious pressure from republicans. I wonder if he cares about the Russian hacking of the DNC and a Trump surrogate knowing what is coming before Assange released it, probably not as important as an email of Hillary discussing what type of knickers she is wearing at Chelsea's wedding.

We just don't know yet given that we don't know whether or not this is significant.

The point is that the headline has made it look like the FBI is investigating Clinton again, and that's something Trump can and already is capitalising upon. Very few people will care for the actual substance of the emails and whether there's anything significant.

I think part of this is why Hilary's struggled to put away Trump completely yet. For all of his flaws and for all of the shocking, shocking stuff he's done, he's been able to redirect it to say, "Look, she's just as bad!" And while it's not true, there are legitimate ways in which she looks quite bad...and if the public believes there's an FBI investigation hanging over her head going into the election then that's a massive, massive blow.

Because certain branches of government should not be seen as using their power to swing an election, for obvious reasons.

Once the breaking news hysteria wears off, I think this will subside. On the bright side, 1/3 of FL voting has already taken place.

Do we think Tim Kaine has more of a chance of becoming president than Donald Trump?

Yeah, but if there is evidence and enough evidence to investigage, wouldn't it also be using their power to affect an election if they witheld that information and investigation until after the election?

This is purely about Comey doing face saving after being put under pressure by Congressional Republican.

If you are going to make a public statement, clarify, or don't bother. Any new investigation won't sort itself out within 10 days.

Hopefully...but it could be enough to give Trump a big push. Not enough to win perhaps (especially with the Florida voting), but certainly enough to be a big, big threat. This is why I've been reluctant to write him off completely. For all the forecasts indicating Hilary's almost certainly got it in the bag, it's been an election with massive, regular swings, and momentum has been key.

The problem for Hilary has partly been ensuring she can get that disillusioned Democrat base to vote for her, and shit like this doesn't help, irrespective of how truthful it may be.

We actually don't know if there is. All he said is they have uncovered new material. It could be absolutely nothing for all we know.

Then it will all boil down to nothing. But the FBI shouldn't withold evidence and information due to the suspect being in an election race. If she has nothing to hide then she has nothing to fear.

This wouldn't have been witheld if it was Drumpf, and it certainly would have been an all out media frenzy. No reason it should be different for Clinton.

What evidence though? Where is the evidence of criminal activity? All we see is carelessness when handling information, none of which has been shown to be classified to a point of prosecution yet Rinse Pubis sat in front of Chuck Todd three weeks ago and said Hillary Clinton gave away the nations most precious secrets, of course Chuck ended it there. It's not reopened, it was a separate investigation where some emails may be pertinent to a closed case and will probably not involve Clinton. Typical of republicans blowing there load over nothing while their candidate awaits a civil trial implicating him in raping a thirteen year old.
This is just another case of a Clinton non scandal thrown about at an inconvenient time by an FBI director obviously under some pressure from his party. I doubt it will put a guy in the Oval Office who will most likely spending his first year fighting a dozen sexual harassment law suits.

Rumour was that Comey wanted to do more than he did with the initial investigation. Not sure how true that is, but I think this is his way of getting back at her. He would have known the impact this would have, especially sending it to congressmen.

Comey is under a lot of pressure from Republicans who are pissed he didn't indict her during the last round, so he is obviously doing his due diligence to make it public that new material has been found. If he waited until after she won, then his credibility would've severely impugned (as well as that of the FBI at large), as it would be perceived as him suppressing information to help her across the finish line. He did the right thing both from a transparency and integrity standpoint, but it was obviously also to preserve his own credibility.

Innocent until proven guilty. If guilty, there are procedures in place to impeach.

Do you not see the hazard of a branch of the government publicly influencing the results of a general election days before it takes place? That's a slippery slope, to say the least, in a country that tries to espouse the principles of democracy.

MSNBC seems to be a nice cosey place for republicans these days. I have heard at least a dozen mistruths of surrogates in the last thirty minutes yet have not been corrected. They get a harder grilling on faux these days.
And now they have Jan Brewer, what is the fecking point in bringing on someone like that, she has no expertise on this situation. Hold on, John Roberts has her on the spot with Arpio, and so continues the delusion.

Jan Brewer reminds me of a wine guzzling aunt on a political rant. The fact that she was actually Governor of Arizona is absolutely surreal.

There has been so much filth in this election mostly be the right as O'Keefe is full of shit but I hope the country can heal somewhat with a Hillary win. A trump win and we are all fecked.

As I stated previously, if there is enough material there for the FBI to look into they shouldn't delay that due to the inconvenience it may cause Clinton.

Indeed, but the speculation will do all the damage.

Does anyone know if the FBI had to announce this? If it turns out to be nothing (again) and Clinton loses then that will be a truly horrific swaying of the democratic process.

I'm all for Clinton but in some ways, if the claim is genuine (that they found out that there was real evidence to re-open the case) wouldn't them re-opening it actually be the correct move in a democratic process?

I know, I kind of imagine her being someone Rooney wouldve got up on back in the day.

Question for all our Americans: Do you guys really think Hillary is a good candidate? Or is this very much a case of the lesser evil? IMO she wouldn't have stood a chance against a sane and normal Rep. candidate.

I just can't shake the feeling that this election is between the village idiot and the village witch. One is dumb and blunt but will largely be constrained and held back once in office, while the other one just is a bit too adept at the dark arts.

To contain Drumpf just give him a Rubics cube and a Playboy mag and let him sit in a corner and drool while the support staff decides everything of importance. Clinton is a whole different kettle of fish.

They are not re-opening the case. That's the problem. We don't know anything from those 3 cryptic paragraphs they release. It's highly irresponsible to put it out and let conjectures run wild.

But what could they possibly find in eleven days that needed to be conveyed to congress and then released if not to give their nominee a bump this close out.
