Speaking in Greensboro, North Carolina, at the same time as yet another woman came forward with allegations that he had sexually assaulted her, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump dismissed the allegations of Jessica Leeds, who alleged that Trump assaulted her in the first-class cabin of an airplane in 1979.

“The only way they figure they can slow it down is to come up with people that are willing to say, ‘Oh, I was with Donald Trump in 1980! I was sitting with him on an airplane! And he went after me on the plane!’” Trump said dismissively.

“Yeah, I’m gonna go after you. Believe me - she would not be my first choice, that I can tell you. Man. You don’t know - that would not be my first choice.”

The audience cheered.

Now one has to wonder whether there is something in these allegations. Remember a journalist on MSNBC yesterday saying every journalist following the Trump campaign is aware of these allegations going back months now. It was a matter of who was going to take the first leap.

Has Fox thrown the towel in? I was just watching it and they were saying that if not for Trumps sexual assault allegations the Wikileaks would be damning. Yesterday they were all for denying the accusations had any weight behind them.

They're probably pissed off about the rumours that Trump and Ailles are going to start a rival news organization that caters to the loons.

I'm 32, so I was only 16 when Bush Jr won, so to be fair to my teenage self I wasn't too closely following the Clinton impeachment.

Goodness, you're a youngin'!

Apologies, Frosty, your posts are so knowledgeable and mature on most subjects I assumed you were at least my age.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

 amazing

It's actually quite funny(and super depressing) that more often than not, the things that bring down politicians are not their venality or terrible positions, but personal baggages - mostly sex.

The moral of the story seems to be as long as you keep your dick in your pants, or at least hide it well enough, you are golden.

And a commercial for the debate that sounds like a UFC promo....???

Thank god I haven't been watching TV.

Definitely. I said this a while ago, but Fox have subtly withdrawn their support. They're backing the GOP now, not Trump.

If I had to, I honestly think that I'd wager money on Biden becoming president before Trump. It's done.

Fox now looking to 2020.
They are saying that Republicans abandoning Trump echos them abandoning Barry Goldwater which led to Richard Nixon getting elected 4 years later.

The "let's focus on the 'real issues'" line from the Trump campaign doesn't work so well after Trump held that press conference with Bill Clinton's accusers. He's personally given a green light for his accusers to dominate the media cycle.

He just can't resist the bait.
