With 2 candidates a 10 point lead would be 55-45 lose 5 you go down to 50 so your opponent goes up to 50 so you are even.

And, to make it worse, in the panicked flurry to find a smoking gun because The Donald's actual smoking guns are uniformly crrrraaaazzzzy, they've tried to force angles out of emails that are literal non-stories. This forcing of the issues has reduced the credibility of the emails in the case that something is ACTUALLY found, but also has made them dull. In this reality TV election, that is the worse possible thing that could have happened because the vast majority of people have now switched off to that angle.

To use that tweet again that I mentioned before, there isn't a smoking gun, there isn't even smoking smoke.

It's their own fault for how they played it. If it'd had been a slow burning story, it would have been far less likely to have aspersions of being doctored thrown at it. Because of the theatrical way it was used, it was pretty well defused instantly with Dems response and the suspicions of the FBI or whatever it was.

Because he knows the writing is on the wall for Trump. However, he also knows there is a massive white (mostly) nationalistic working class vote out there that has for the first time been engaged like never before. He wont be quite as bad as Trump, he'll energise the feckwits as Trump did but do it in a more polished way that will not scare off soccer mums

Christie is just as bad if not worse...he actually gave pieces of the wreckage of the twin towers as "gifts" to donors who endorsed him ahead of his bid for re-election in 2013.
