2016 US Presidential Elections | Trump Wins

I despise Hillary Clinton, by the way. Always have. But Trump is just something else. Always support the least terrible option, and that is far and away Clinton this year (no contest).

Didn't know they were friends.

They were BEST friends! Until this election Trump was best mates with Bill and Hillary, feck me the Clintons were at Trumps 2nd and 3rd weddings. There are hundreds of interviews where Trump praises both of them. He even wrote in his book that Hillary has had to endure more than any woman should ever have to in her life. Now he's doing this to her?

Even that in itself should be something that shows his attitude to those around him...if he's willing to throw friends under the bus, then he's willing to do it with anyone at all. It's disparaging as well though that America's political elite have given him so much time and respect over the years.

I didn't know about all of these allegations of sexual crimes until recently, how many of them do you suspect to be true?
as a general rule doesn't the caf assume that the number of false rape/sexual assault claims are very few?

But the question at hand isn't what Bill did or did not do. It's about Trump.

I am still not voting for the piece of shit Trump.

I'm really not sure. There's some shady shit surrounding Bill - we already know he's certainly not the type to scoff at adultery and the added fact that he was a man of immense power and popularity means he's someone who could've gotten away with such stuff.

At the same time though...these women appearing on a platform with a man who's said similar, has allegations against him of a similar nature, and who has been on record making comments in which he seems to admit to sexual harassment of some form, makes me suspicious of them. Especially with the added, convenient endorsements of Trump. I don't know...maybe they're just desperate for a platform to venerate their anger against Bill, and Trump's given them that (in the same way he facilitates the anger of many disgruntled Americans), but there does seem to something dodgy around the allegations.

Either way it's just really, really disparaging to see in politics, which should be about policy first and foremost instead of this pantomime shite.

I very much doubt that they care about Trump, and he certainly doesn't; they are all using the other party to a purpose i suspect. Of course we have oru own ongoing inquiry into historical allegations here in the UK (as well as Saville), which exemplifies how difficult it can be to pursue such cases.

As someone said a few posts back, policy has played a minor role throughout, hasn't it. Donald doesn't have much of a portfolio to offer, what little he does have is open to question; whereas for Hillary for character assassination seems too easy to refuse.

Trump is a joke, needs flushing. He's really bad for politics because he's pushed the boundaries so far beyond what should be acceptable that he's now almost made the insane GOP members seem moderate. The Tea Party look MODERATE in comparison. That's a hell of an achievement. And you can prove this by the nonexistent coverage in mainstream media on Pence's affiliation to that movement.

Aye. If Bill Clinton was running for president then this would be a huge issue. He's not though, his wife is.

Unless Trump has evidence of Hillary herself doing something wrong then all he's doing is dragging the debate into the sewer in the hope that some of it sticks.

America as a nation will feel like bathing itself in Clorox by the time Trump is done.

This feels more like the John Terry-Wayne Bridge match at Stamford Bridge than a presidential debate. It's the culmination of years of politics becoming a reality show that imitates what politics should be about...
That day the underdog won convincingly though :nervous:

Edit: to the extent that I'm wondering if she'll shake his hand.

I seem to remember McCain using an effective line against Obama in 2008 - something along the lines of "if you are spending all your time criticising GWB's policies you should have run against him in 2004".

Surely something similar would be effective (for the voter) against Trump?

Agreed. If nothing else Trump has highlighted the poverty of policy inherent in mainstream politics.

Melania doesn't look happy at all. Walking way behind Donald, and he looked angry too.

The Drumpf Spawn just showed up too and Don Jr's wife was pulling her thong out of her arse live on telly.

Weall just need to channel Sam Neill to get through the debate. Descent into the mouth of madness.

Yeah but it's ok because @VorZakone tells us all that Trump won't use them. Don't listen to someone who actually knows him and WROTE HIS AUTOBIOGRAPHY ffs

Nah, someone would stop Trump. Just like someone will stop him from plunging this debate into the political equivalent of nuclear armageddon. *cough*

I am starting to think this is all some elaborate plan to stop aliens invading. They are watching us right now thinking that enslaving this world simply isn't worth the effort.

Waking up at 4am when on holiday to watch a pre-election debate for another countries president.

15 mins to go, how about some predictions:

- An audience member reveals themself as a victim of sexual assault and lays into Trump
- Hillary drops an n-word story

- Stone Cold's theme hits and he gives Trump a stunner
- Trump concedes the election, and shakes hands with Hilary with whom he was in cohorts the whole time
- Trump pulls out, and is replaced by Putin

I think Anderson Cooper and Martha Radditz will keep this pretty civil. I'm sure there will be a few tense moments but ultimately this is a town hall event where 40 undecided voters get to ask the candidates about issues like jobs, the economy, foreign affairs etc.
