Anyone could finish 5th or 1st this season, teams are playing like they can't be stopped one week and the next they'll drop points against relegation fodder.I know it's early but are people in here still pretending Arsenal are going to finish 5th behind the likes of Chelsea, United and Liverpool? It's not too late to withdraw those unfounded claims.
To be fair the majority on here have Arsenal top 4. There was many on here predicting City would finish 5th or 6th.I know it's early but are people in here still pretending Arsenal are going to finish 5th behind the likes of Chelsea, United and Liverpool? Who is this actually a race between? Spurs and Liverpool are currently the closest sides to City but it's clear that Arsenal are in a strong position, with some very winnable fixtures coming up as well. United will probably be up there but is it even going to be a race? City look like they're going to run away with it at the minute.
Fitting into a 4-3-3 formation, arsenal have a better keeper, better CBs, LB, playmaker (Ozil vs Fabregas) and B2B (Ramsey vs Oscar/Matic). That is 6 positions where they are clearly better than Chelsea. Then you have RB and wings that are about equal.
Only positions better for Chelsea are DM and ST.
So does it make a bit more sense now?No. Just no.

I actually think teams have been really consistent this year, apart from Liverpool's botch against Burnley but yeah, Spurs and city unbeaten, Arsenal haven't lost since the opening day, We've got 4 wins from 6 even though we've not looked particularly good until today and Chelsea have been average in all their games yet had 3/3. I'd be amazed if Arsenal or city finish below 3rd also.Anyone could finish 5th or 1st this season, teams are playing like they can't be stopped one week and the next they'll drop points against relegation fodder.

Spurs beat them home and away last season, with an aggregate 5 - 1 scoreline. So far this season we've matched our points tally compared to the same/equivalent fixtures last season, but continuing that track next weekend is going to be difficult, tho' not impossible, since City are much improved now.
Considering how well they did at Old Trafford, I'd probably back City to beat you with Kane missing. It'd be a big morale boost for the chasing pack though if Spurs were to win.Spurs beat them home and away last season, with an aggregate 5 - 1 scoreline. De Bruyne might be out and apparently they struggled today so hopefully you will beat themI'll take a point right now thank you, this isn't anything like the City of last season. Any points we pick up from them will be bonus points.

I think that seeing one side run away with it is as boring as it gets. Spurs winning next week at least opens the door to a proper title race opening up. You're right though that a Spurs defeat is also good because I do see you as top four contenders.Interesting, I think most people have City winning the league, do the other top teams really want Spurs beating them? Unless of course they don't see Spurs as genuine top 4 contenders.
Sorry I only looked at the table before your game not after.? We're above you at the moment on GD.
You're right though. Don't see any title race this season, although we've all got to hope that Spurs win next weekend. Battle for the top four is looking very interesting though.
Whilst City have a short trip up to Scotland. Still as someone mentioned no De Bruyne could be a massive help to your chances. If he's out it might impact their attacking play considering how good he's been this season. On the plus side, Spurs should have Dier, Dembele and Rose back in the team (all missing today), but then our long trip to Moscow and back for Tuesday's match might take its toll.

And tho' Janssen likely won't be the prolific goal scorer that Kane is, he holds the ball up very well and is a real physical handful ... got two assists today I believe.
The exact same was said at this stage last season, when they won their opening 5 league games without conceding a single goal and played with incredible style and conviction. They came 4th.
Wasn't there even a thread after those 5 games, might even have been fewer, congratulating City on their title? I'm sure there was.
I don't think they'll finish 4th again, but there's an enormous distance to go yet. There's time for other teams to put it right, whilst there's also time for City to falter.
To be honest though, cant predict anything until xmas. Even if one of the "contenders" goes 9pts behind now for example, can easily be clawed back by then. So first 10 games i ignore table completely
Arsenal have the second best squad?
A squad that has Gabriel, Mertesacaker, Gibbs, Debuchy, Holding, Coquelin, Elneny, Welbeck, OX, Walcott and Sanogo....
While not great, there's a few very useful players on that list, particularly the bolded
Early days. City are obviously favourites, but last season they started off with 5 wins out of 5 and everyone thought they'd run away with it. They tend to be very strong starters. I don't think they'll run away with it or win it by a mile, but they probably will win it in the end. They'll slow down inevitably, they'll pick up a few injuries, other competitions will kick in, etc... We'll see what the table is like come Christmas, as then we'll see if they are running away with it or if it's a race.Who is this actually a race between? I don't see how so many have already made City the champs. Their fixtures so far have been: sunderland, stoke, west ham, united, bournemouth, and swansea. Apart from the United game, they have been pretty comfortably winnable fixtures.
I don't think they'll maintain an unbeaten record after their next 3 games - Spurs, Everton and Southampton.
You just going to ignore the other posts predicting City 5th or 6th? Was at least 6/7 people predicting that.Oh yeah, that one guy who had city 6th I think he was messing around, he must have been.
You regard having half or less good performances in league matches as being really good?Walcott has been really good this season, I think him missing out on Euro 2016 has benefitted Arsenal, it's like someone lit a match under his ass.
Things could change. Their defence is their weakness but even then they're "only" conceding a goal a game. When their attack is how it is, it isn't an issue for the moment. the answer is surprisingly easy: Guardiola. I said it before the season and I stick to it. He´ll walk the league with ease if he gets the right players and their transfer-business was pretty good. He is way too good at motivating players and his style is too intense for them to fall off a cliff. Sure, they´ll drop points, but so will the 3-4 teams behind them.I don't see how so many have already made City the champs. Was looking at betting websites and they have City and Liverpool as title favourites. The stuff of nightmares
I'm not sure their defence is as weak as ours was in 13/14. We could be in control of a game for 89 minutes and still concede three in the one minute we didn't have a handle on things.Things could change. Their defence is their weakness but even then they're "only" conceding a goal a game. When their attack is how it is, it isn't an issue for the moment. Bit like you in 2013-14.
Real competition will be for top 4, though its looking good for Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool.
Spurs at home to City next could be interesting. Just annoying they've got a few first teamers injured.
I put down £20 last season on Liverpool at 14/1 to win the 2016/2017 title. City are the clear favourites atm with 3/4 teams hovering behind but fingers crossed and all that.
You just going to ignore the other posts predicting City 5th or 6th? Was at least 6/7 people predicting that.
Why are you so concerned about people picking Arsenal outside the top 4? Aren't you a Man United fan?
Like I told you before nearly 80% of the predictions for top 6 had Arsenal in top 4, why are you getting so upset with people predicting them to finish outside the top 4?
