2016/2017 Title race

No one should have any issues with a boss having an outburst at an insubordinate team mate especially in a pressure situation.

Wenger is a douche who keeps taking these pot shots at others. Some one needed to shut him down and Jose did that very very well. He should get props for that.

Nobody should stop a doctor from doing their job, call them "daughter of a whore" and then try to force them out of their job.

Tbf, Mourinho is a good person with plenty of class.

Some of his unsavory actions have been the result of being dealt extremely with unfairly. The only action that does not have enough mitigating explanation is the eye poke on Tito. Outside of that, he is a much better person than most in football.
No way. He is as classes as they come in football. Not many are at his low level.

The outburst was one thing (as you say, pressure situation) but the way Carniero and Fearn were treated in the aftermath was pretty disgusting. If Jose had apologised and said "I was frustrated and wrongly took it out on someone else" then it would have been all fine.

Well to be fair she did turn out to be a money grabbing whore in the end did she not. Not saying that Jose's actions were totally acceptable but as I said earlier, there were mitigating circumstances.

Family man who does plenty of charity... Yes not many come close to him but at the other end of the spectrum.

Money grabbing whore? Bring on the infraction but you're a moron.

How about when Jose called reporters 'maricones' ('faggots')? And no, Eva Caneiro didn't 'turn out to be money grabbing whore', you absolute arse.

Wenger sometimes comments on what he sees as wrong, nothing more.

Totally agree. He was wrong.

I really doubt it would have been fine. I think there was trouble brewing for a while there. Carneiro is clearly a brilliant doctor (given our injury record under her). Jose is not an idiot to sour a relationship just in the heat of the moment.

When has Jose ever had a relationship turn sour?

His antics speak otherwise. By the way you spoke about Eva, you're just as classless as Mourinho himself.

It's quite funny when you think about how Jose sold Luiz for a ridiculous fee (which most logical Chelsea fans were feeling happy about) but then Conte went and re-signed him. If Jose sold Smalling for £50 million I think most UTD fans would be absolutely over the moon. It would be a legendary piece of business.

Jose was classy enough to dedicate the community shield victory to LVG. If Conte wins the league will he have the class and magnanimity to dedicate the title to Jose (or at least pay tribute to him)? If so he will win my respect for being a gentleman. But I'm not holding my breath.

  1. Mourinho dedicated the Community Shield to LvG just like Moyes dedicated it to Sir Alex. To play in that *glorified friendly* you have to achieve something the season gone. Champions or FA Cup winners. So it's down to their predecessors they get to have that honour to their name.
  2. Did Mourinho credit his predecessors at Inter, Chelsea, Madrid? He took over from Mancini who won four titles in a row. He took over from Ranieri who led them to UCL Semi finals. He took over a Madrid side who won 2 out of the 3 previous La Liga titles and under Pellegrini broke the record points tally...unfortunately Barcelona bettered it.
The answer is no. In fact he took digs at them. I'm warming to him as Utd manager - couldn't stand him prior to it and dislike his fanboys.

Yep, you're a Chelsea fan alright.

Mourinho seems like a really nice guy off the pitch, but he is hungry and he wants to win at all costs, which sometimes causes him to do/say stupid things on the pitch and in interviews.

WTF mate

Feck off, I'm a Chelsea fan and I think Eva was treated bloody disgracefully. It's one of the reasons I wasn't that sorry when we parted company with Jose.

Was I responding to you? No I wasn't, so I suggest you take your internet hardman act elsewhere.

When you try and insult an entire group of people, don't be surprised when one of that group call you on it. As for 'internet hardman' shouldn't you be off in a thread somewhere insinuating that football violence was actually pretty cool like you normally do?

What adult uses the phrase 'money grabbing whore' outside of a stand-up comedy routine anyway?

Liverpool win tonight and Arsenal winning on Saturday would make this season interesting. As an Arsenal fan and a football fan I hope this is the case even if we don't win it. I hate it these days when the league is more or less tied up this quickly as it doesn't make the game as interesting. Would be good to see a close affair for the league though I'm not sure what others would like to see?

I know we'll bottle it at the Bridge with a 99% probability but I'm quietly confident we can get a win. Especially if Liverpool win tonight as Chelsea might get rattled.

Agree 100%, this is what I'm thinking as well. Also because I don't want Chelsea or City to win it.

Momentum is a funny thing in football, two losses and Chelsea will suddenly feel they have something to lose, and pressure could be on.

They will probably win though.

Isn't it the other team's responsibility then to make it competitive league? Not like we alone are running for the competition here.

Going to defend Jose on this. Wenger loves the odd cheeky shot at Jose but when Jose hits back, he plays the victim. It's sickening.

Wenger isn't a fan of 'financial doping' but he's pretty indifferent to Jose. Mourinho would mention him every interview, during press conferences as Chelsea were at rock bottom Wenger was continually asked about Jose/Chelsea and he never took the bait.

No way is Wenger indifferent. They've had shoving matches on the touchline and ignored each other during hand shakes. They don't like eachother. It's not all Jose.

The thing about the relationship that is all Jose is their head to head record & trophy count.

Wenger doesn't like Mourinho but he doesn't feel the need to mention him either. Only one person is obsessed in interviews, Jose wasn't even asked about Wenger in most of his Wenger digs and he was doing it constantly especially when he was losing. He's put a bit of a lid on it this year but he still does it occassionally.

Nowt wrong with that imo. Wenger is far from a saint himself.

Chelsea will easily finish ahead of Arsenal & Liverpool. Conte just needs to pick his best players & make earlier subs.

Doubt they will finish above either, Arsenal have better players and Liverpool have a better manager and probably players as well.

Chelsea will be relying on no European football to help bridge the gap.

How much would you bet that you finish below Arsenal?

That's a bold statement to make after your poor outing last weekend but I wouldn't expect anything else from you.

;)

over confident stinking of arrogance twits.. Wish they would wait until the fat lady is singing

The Arsenal & Liverpool having better players bit is especially funny.

You won't hear most of us being over confident. I'm counting no chickens until they're hatched after our dismal performance last year.
And on matchdays home and away, the feeling is the same. Any talk of the title is sshhhhd. Just some gloating arrogant types further up the page and beyond who are getting a tad scouse like. Infact I can order their Premier League champions t-shirts and scarfs for then to wear next week if they want

On the contrary, I just knew we'd finish ahead of both Arsenal & Liverpool. Didn't take a genius to figure that out. We simply had a flat out better manager & first team.

I felt the only legitimate threats for the title & the near future are both Manchester clubs. Both were the two overwhelming favourites at the start of the season for a good reason. I think both Pep & Jose will be back with a vengeance next season.

Man for man i do think arsenal have a better team than chelsea. Chelsea have Diego Costa though and overall are slightly better. What separates them is that killer mentality to consistently deliver

Really? We're better in every area as a whole. Keeper, defense and midfield, certainly. Argument is there for attacking quality. I'd say 2 Arsenal players get into our best XI- Alexis & Koscielny.
