2013 Major League Baseball (MLB)

Any of you know anywhere that does a picks game type thing? I used to do an nfl one on the nfluk website, you just fill it in and it totals it up every week

FFS. White Sox come back from 6-1 down to take it to extra innings, 8-6 down in the bottom of the 10th and Tyler Flowers strikes out on 3 pitches with the bases loaded.

2 outs in the 9th. Phillies with a 3 run double to win. Rarely watch baseball but that was fun.

Down 5-4 in the bottom of the ninth, BJ Upton ties it with a home run and Justin Upton wins it with a walk-off home run. Awesome. :D

My neighbor freshman year at university just hit his first homerun in the majors.

My neighbor for two years in college got drafted in the 2nd round (I think) and blew out his elbow his second season in the minors. I think he's a scout now.

Jeter out until atleast the ASB, honestly don't think he will be back this season. Watching Nunez and Nix at short all season is going to be depressing.

Felix Hernandez vs. Scherzer was a hell of a battle, and neither got the win

King Felix's stat line - 8IP, 4H, 0 ER, 0 BB 12 Ks, no decision
Scherzer's state line - 8IP, 6H, 1 ER, 1BB, 12 Ks, no decision

Next days JV's stat line was - 7 IP, 2 ER, 12 Ks and he was hit with the loss

Wins haven't come easy for a few elite pitchers in the last couple days

Pitching is there, Sanchez is actually earning his pay cheque, top of the order is hitting Avila, Dirks and V-Mart need to get going though

I thought the Blue Jays were supposed to be THE team to beat this year?

I'd say if they are still leading at the trade deadline then they become tipped, especially if they go for it and swing a trade for another rotation piece.

I still like the Tigers for the WS.

I'm astounded the Braves are doing as well as they are considering how AWFUL Jason Heyward, BJ Upton and Dan Uggla have been. BJ and Jason have looked like coming around the last few days, but they all have a long way to go.

Evan Gattis has to be one of the stories of this season, though. Amazing story and he's backing it up with insane numbers. NL Rookie of the Month the first two months of the season.

Make A-Rod retire......or have his contract annuled. ANYTHING!

This is going to be very interesting. First off this Bosch guy actually has to sit down and co-operate with MLB. So far we just have reports of an agreement to do so.

Then will come the naming of names, but if any of the players decide to appeal that could actually not just delay the supension but delay the release of their name (according to one ESPN reporter this morning).

Of course there is the entire issue of how reliable this Bosch guy will be and how much will the players involved and the players union attack this credibility.

Then there is the issue of whether legally MLB can suspend these players based on Bosch's testimoney. So far any suspensions given out in the past have been for players who actually tested positive for PEDs or other banned substances. The Union will fight the suspension on this ground also.

The 100 game suspension if given out will also be fought tooth and nail by the players and the union.

I also expect at least several players if they are hit with suspension will file defamation of character lawsuits against MLB and Bosch, forcing them to prove in court that the allegations against the players are true.

This is not going to be resolved quickly.

Draft day! Not quite sure why but I really enjoy watching it.

I guess seeing that Puig is the new sensation of the league, he is above suspension. This despite entering the fracas on two separate occasions and throwing punches, all on camera. Then Heinske gets suspended for doing nothing but trying to break up the fracas. Typical MLB feck up.

Valverde cruelly DFA'd. He needs to come home to where he was loved (a little, at least). You can never have enough guys who make a drama of getting 3 outs. Watching Valverde come in to save a Livan Hernandez start was one life's, er, most magical experiences. Can't believe that was 6 years back now.

I agree that the suspensions were bullshit, I think Kennedy should also have got a lot longer. At least retribution had already been dealt out to Puig earlier in the series.

I never liked Valverde's shtick. A typical outing for him would include a lead off home run, a strikeout, a double, a hit by pitch, a strike out and a warning track flyout. Then he would prance around like he was Gil Gamesh throwing nine straight strikes.

Ryan Braun suspended for the rest of the season for violating the MLB drug program.

I wonder how long A-Rod has got left.

They say the evidence on A-Rod is worse and he also tried to buy it and destroy it. Rumblings of a lifetime ban which I think is a long shot, but as Yankees fan saving any kind of money on his ridiculous contract is a win even though the Yankees are so bad his bat would actually be an upgrade right now.

Every day is a soap opera at Yankee Stadium. A-Rod claims he is fit to play and his MRI shows no muscle strain. Cashman claims he is not fit and will not be until August 1. Yankees seem to be stalling in the hope Major League Baseball will suspend him before he takes the field again.
