2012 Ryder Cup

I have to admit I've never understood the resentment for the 'U-S-A' chant. No worse than 'Come on England' or any of that. The 'get in the hole' thing exists at Euro tournaments I've seen as well.

Sore 'winners' for not even having actually won
!

Olé olé olé olé!

 Europe did win

Well that's a spectacular evenings entertainment. Great stuff from the Europeans. Heroic stuff.

Nice touch of class from Woods there conceeding the putt to half the match and Europe win after what looked like mission impossible after the first 2 days.

Emotional interview there, broke down mentioning Seve.

I'm not bothered by golf at all or who wins, but the crowd seemed to be a bit in your face for such a contemplative sport.

The Ryder Cup is an event unto itself. It's the same atmosphere no matter which side of the ocean it's played on.

Yes, Tiger's made me look like a bit of a fool if you look at my other post after the competition's over, but when it was made it was accurate.

I guess I'll be the only one the irony's not lost on as the lot of you sit here complaining about the fans in attendance not showing any class.

My problem with the chant is that I associate it with fat blokes banging on about USA being the best country in the world. Nothing to do with sports really in my case.

I envy the people watching on the BBC, its still 10-6 there, they get to go through all that again

Bloxy is Nostrodamus.

Unfeckingbelieveable. Justin Rose you beauty, What a point that was, gave the team hope and crushed the rest. Take a bow Europe, that was the best come back ever in Ryder Cup history.

RIP Seve. That's for you.

Great team selection for Jose. Winning the first five single matches. Just brilliant. Then Rose winning was when Europe took control.

Remember Bubba Watson doing a Bayern on the first tee a few hours ago...

Big difference between being there and talking about it on a forum.

It's more of a catch-all that crosses all level of international sport. I suppose more countries would have that problem if they were as competitive in as many. ;)

It may have something to do with playing Europe as opposed to a country. Very few people are passionate about Europe outside of fiscal policy. So maybe it all sounds a bit OTT to us in this particular context.

After all that, why is it that some of these guys haven't won a major yet? I'm thinking of people like Donald and Poulter primarily, not sure about Rose when it comes to the mentality required to see out a winning round on Sunday.
