Looking at those pairings, I think Monty's done the right thing in putting a lot of his strongest players at the top of the order.

Great day for Europe today, but if Harrington has another day like today I'd fancy taking him on myself!

Without counting chickens Europe should win comfortably from here.

I think Europe will win thought it all along, but the thing with putting the strong players forward is that if things dont go well for one or two of them, America will pick up some momentum and could score a lot of points late to come back and win, on paper though Europe should win comfortably

The last name Woods wanted to see alongside his was Weswood.

The Ryder Cup as only been won three times by a team trailing going into the singles. The fact that it is in Europe, they have a better team, plus a 3 point lead makes the task ahead monumental for the Americans.

True enough, but conversely if he had kept the stronger players back, and the "weaker" players started out badly, there would be a greater potential for the Americans to work up a real head of steam which would be difficult to stop. Monty also knew that the Americans themselves were in an all-or-nothing situation, and would put their own form players at the top of the order. Personally I think he's done the right thing.

Hope I'm still thinking so tomorrow!

Great start for Europe: up in six matches, down in two and one all-square.

Stricker beats Westwood 2&1, Europe now lead 9.5-7.5.

Dustin Johnson is destroying Kaymer, maybe some revenge for how he lost out at the PGA Champiosnhip?

Cink's missed a sitter, and other than the McDowell & Poulter matches, all the other matches are 2 shots ahead/behind. Should be a great finish...

Poulter has been world class this weekend.

10.5 - 8.5

McllRoy had a chance for the match there. Now he's a nervy putt for a half.

Sinks it.

11-9

Tiger is on fire.

I think that's 4 straight birdies followed by an eagle from the fairway.

Big win for Donald and Europe, if scores stay the same (and if my Maths is accurate) Europe should win this 15-13...

Apparently 8 under par for the last 10 holes... incredible.

It's looking odds on that the last match between McDowell and Mahan will be the crucial one, as the US look to have winning positions in sufficient matches to make that the case. McDowell's two up at the moment, but he's going to be under immense pressure later on by the look of things.

Jimenez knocks in the putt to win his match, 13-9, Europe on the brink...

you look like being right McDowell last match out and thats the winning point , but good thing he is 3up after 11 holes

edit just 2 up now

13 - 9
just 1 and half needed to win

Yeah, great stuff. Ed Molinari and McDowell are each 3 up as well now, so Europe are in the driving seat. The downside of course is that there is little chance of any points from the other matches so it could still go to the wire.

Fisher loses after missing 2 putts (first to win the hole, second to stay alive in the match) 13-10.

Mahan's pulled one back, but as long as McDowell doesn't lose, Europe should be victorious...

13-11, Woods wins his match, played beautifully today. He's been showing some signs of returning to his best the past 1-2 months, this performance will be great for his confidence.

Woods wins it.

-9 for the round. They only played 15 holes.

Great putt from Fowler, keeps the match alive, Molinari still 1 up going to the 18th. Terrific shot by the rookie under pressure...

Mickelson wins his match 13-12.

I've been very impressed by Fowler this week, he may still lose his match, but he has something special about him.

Pressure is all on Europe now, great to watch though....
