she wasn't spoony - but they did have a mutual appreciation thing going , like she did with gorbachev

as i said, it was mutual - not something you could describe in a blair/bush relationship

you would have to be senile to respect that evil cnut

It was cringeworthy, not unlike Bush and Blair. I have no doubt she would've backed him up in the exact same way. If you're honest you can't beat Labour with Iraq stick when the Tories backed them up at the time - unsurprisingly from a Hawish lot eh. What you should've done was vote Lib Dem in protest in the last election. Money where you're mouth is and all that otherwise your just using it as an excuse to bash Labour. But this tribal bollocks is sad. It's not football.

of course the tories backed them - they were told there were weapons of mass destruction!

even i thought blair must have proof.

Whereas all the real evidence pointed elsewhere. As I said, they were happy to back the war regardless. It's what hawish Tories have always done. So, it's a bit rich.

:D

Well, I'm in the same boat in reverse. I can't vote in a Spanish general election, but I can vote in this one.

Why are you not a citizen? You must've been there for some time now anyway.

I didn't really care that much about the fact I couldn't vote until I saw all the gimps at the polling station, queueing there to decide what happens with my money ... And it would have been nice to contribute to the whole debate as well.

Why would I want to be a Spanish citizen? God forbid!

I don't want to vote in a Spanish general election, as it's none of my business IMO, I'm not Spanish, it's not my country. I don't want to vote in an English local election because again it's none of my business - I don't live there and local politics don't effect my everyday life.

Off to vote I go.

If I put the word 'cnut' next to one of the candidates, will my ballot paper become void?

Would have been better in the general this for exposure for a better representation of the cafe. Once done with, move it here.

I'm a confirmed Capitalist...

Just seen the poll results, does it say something about the United demographic, football fans demographic or simply that Manchester is a Socilaist area and most United fans are from there (including me but I'm not a Socialist).

And before some boring cnut goes on about there not being a fag paper between them, Labour are for state control and Tory are for individual control, which will always get my vote.

I would say it's to do with the age. Most of the liberal left are young on here, and most users are young overall on here.

The tories are just old farts ;)

Notice those who voted Labour are amongst the most educated, handsome, well-endowed posters. Not a coincidence.

I voted Labour.

Haven't bothered in the past, my vote means feck all anyway, and I don't really have any confidence in them. I just felt like I had to do my bit to try and keep the Tories out.

That's the best you can do these days since New Labour don't implement labour policies.

Yes. The key is, they're not The Conservatives, and voting for them seemed slightly less pointless than voting for Nick Clegg, and whatever it is he represents.

oh you're just sulking because your wife thinks you make gordy look like brad pitt ;)

Stop saying that...

That's the best you can do these days since New Labour don't implement labour policies.

Brown has a bit more though, he's slung about as much cash as the NHS as he could get away with...
