2010 2011 College football thread

that's terrible, he should have gone for the 1st down.

Oh well, Big win for Boise, they get some credibility, but VT will be livid with themselves.

Well that's BSU undefeated again probably. And I can't envision them falling outside the top 4/5 the rest of the year after starting out so high. It will be interesting to see what happens should no one else remain unbeaten or say Ohio State does and Alabama, OU, Texas, or USC have one loss if the BCS elects said school over a 13 win BSU.

As for Navy, learn to throw the ball on occasion. Derp de derp derp derp. We should be able to beat them again since we know where to focus our defense. Against Army last year, we got a lead and they had to start throwing to get back in the game late on. Since they weren't used to throwing the ball, our CB picked off two straight passes and returned them both for TDs. The option is never going to win you anything big, as GT has found out. Any team with a months preparation will win the bowl game.

I don't get this either. Why some schools still use this outdated system. Nebraska finally junked it years ago yet the academies still use it. Surely the academies have QBs that can throw 30 yards downfield.

Some interesting games today. I've got to balance the Duke-Wake Forest game with the Team USA-Lithuania basketball game.

Miami v Ohio State should be good.

Florida getting out played by USF right now....I am right in the middle of UF/USF country, and it would cause a stir if USF get a result.

feck today. United and Duke just give the game away. Three turnovers that shouldn't have happened(punter dropping the ball, two receivers bobbling perfect passes). That makes getting to a bowl harder. Today blows.

UM made a mess of it today v OSU. They (OSU) are a very well coached, disciplined, opportunistic team.

Bama look untouchable this year. Can't see them losing to anyone.

I'm not sure this is a great game to judge Alabama on. The QB they are facing is a true freshman and has been pretty bad.

The Notre Dame Michigan game was exciting at the end. Probably will be Bama v OSU in the BCS title game

How about VaTech losing at home to James Madison. James Madison.

BTW, Duke has a football team?

 Yep, and we play Alabama next week. :nervous:

Our passing game is legit, but we'll have to see about our run game.

VT had a chance with 15 sec left when JMU was punting, but some player decided to hit the punter.

30 arrests in Meyers six seasons at Florida. For feck sake, get control of your fecking program. Ridiculous.

Buckeyes are very entertaining to watch. College football, I like.

Texas are safe, 24-14 with 9 minutes to go, and TT not able to mount a proper drive.

Unfortunate for Clemson, so close to an upset of Auburn, but ended up losing in overtime.

I've decided that the ACC is just mailing it in and waiting for basketball season. They're all saying "wait til basketball season, Duke will kill all of you!"

What an end to the ND vs MSU OT...

Irish get a FG, and State, look to be in good condition to get one of their own, but QB gets sacked on 3rd down for a loss of 9(back to the ND 29). So things aren't looking great, 4th down, 29 yard TD!

Bloody Irish 31 MSU 34

feckin' Longhorns atrocious display at home against a very average UCLA. Granted Texas is rebuilding this year but come on.

Arkansas holding on late... come on Razorbacks.

Yes they are. The oregon Stanford game has been pretty good

'Bama loses

FSU beat Miami

LSU beat Florida

ORST beat Arizona

USC up against Stanford with a 1 minute to go....

crazy saturday in college football

Way to go Coach Spurrier! Some payback for your beloved Duke.

Also, Duke didn't lose this weekend! GTFI.

(We had a bye)

Texas goes up to Lincoln and knocks off Nebraska (who hadn't played anyone in all honesty). The Huskers shot themselves though - four dropped TD passes. They should have won this game by 15 or more.

Wisconsin is skull-fecking an overrated Ohio State squad.

Florida is losing at home to fecking Mississippi State.

Oregon will be #1 soon enough.

A masterclass from Oregon so far tonight. I have motion sickness from watching how fast they are.

9 plays, 80 yards.......1 minute 50 seconds. Ridiculous. Snapping the ball with 33 seconds left on the playclock too. Bananas.

LSU did the nation a favor knocking Alabama out of the BCS title game picture. I think Arkansas will defeat LSU in a couple weeks too, again knocking a potential BCS participant out. Comes down to Auburn beating Alabama and winning the SEC title game, which I think they'll do both. A loss will kill off Auburn's chances IMO.

Oregon will run the tables so they're a shoe in for the title game.

Boise State has a piss-poor schedule but if VaTech keep winning that will help.

TCU slaughtered Utah and both teams will win out which will help TCU. Both BSU and TCU will need Auburn and LSU to lose at least once.

Oklahoma fecking up opens the door for Oh-Kay State. Nebraska will walk the north from here on out. Would a one-loss Nebraska or Oh-Kay State jump BSU and TCU?

Texas has gone from title game to a losing record. Gilbert threw five picks tying a school record. The team appears to have no identity on either side of the ball. They still can't establish a running game. I don't understand how a school that has produced so many top class RBs hasn't found one in a few seasons.
