Look for a thread and didnt find on so i thought i would start it.

The season starts up this week with some pretty interesting games

USC at Hawaii on thursday
Pitt at Utah on thursday

Oregon St at TCU on Saturday
LSU vs North Carolina on saturday
Illinois vs Missouri
Colorado vs Colorado State
Notre Dame against Purdue

Monday brings us Boise State and Va Tech.

Who are your picks to win it all this year

I have no idea. It looks like Ohio State will have the easiest route to an undefeated season along with Boise State so that could be the championship game.

Just have a feeling that Bama will lose a game and i dont see any other teams running the table.

Interesting year

Noles fan...wide right

Sigh...

With the restructuring that is coming up, there will be some rivalies that are going to have extra bite this year.

UNC vs LSU probably won't be nearly as interesting as it should have been. There's a good chance that 7 of their starting defenders won't be playing because of academic/agent problems and the current NCAA investigation into them. So, what was one of the best defenses in the country will be pedestrian.

More importantly, Duke plays Elon to get the season started! Then in two weeks Alabama comes to town. :nervous:

no one has to remind me I was in the stands the exact endzone stand that the first wide right happened.

How we lost that game is still beyond me.

The noles should get to 10 wins this year even if they lose to OU UM and UF

I think Duke will actually keep Bama close. Bama rarely blows out teams so you never know

The biggest issue will be our run defense. We switched to a 3-4 this year and have some inexperienced guys on the D line. If Ingram plays well, we are screwed. We'll see how it goes. A lot depends on our new QB, but he has a quality group of WRs and TEs to throw to. Let's hope our run game moves up from 120th place...

I'm ready for this week to be over to get the season started. As a Duke alum, it's hard to think I would ever have this enthusiasm considering how bad we were for 3 out of my 4 years there. In one game VT had more points than we had yards.

Yes Duke is usually considered an after thought when it comes to football but i have seen their talent level rise over the years and I for one dont buy into the SEC being the end all be all. Alabama will be physical and try to pound you guys but team speed can give them problems as Utah did a few years ago.

Im not saying your going to beat the number 1 team in the nation but i do see it being close going into the 4th quarter. Man that would be a huge upset and would give the ACC some cred. I know i will be pulling for you guys even though i have ties to Alabama.

The QB for my team is an avid Ohio State fan (grew up there).

He said he would throw me a TD in a game if I declared myself a buckeye. I did for a joke, and he threw me 2.

Lets go Ohio State!

Ohio State will roll through the Big Tenleven and then get owned in the NCG as usual. Hopefully, Miami will beat them so they don't end up in the title game.

The ACC has early battles which could help legitimize the conference. Va tech and Boise state
FSU at OU
Miami as OSU
LSU and NC (Of course NC will be without there defence)

we will see..

Utah upsetting Pitt is a bit of a surprise. Pitt were ranked 15 in the nation.

Trojans nearly scored 50(49) on Hawaii, but defensively let in 36.

Miami(OH) 3
Florida 0

Florida with 2 turnovers already. Not doing so well with out Jesus H Tebow.

Watching a bit of the Michigan-Uconn game, and in the 8 snaps I've seen, the Michigan QB has made 1 throw, 2 hand-offs and the other 5 times he's run the ball himself. Not sure if he has a future as a QB, but he looks a decent RB.

Its college ball, think of how many teams still play the OPTION.

I don't watch College football, I just thought it was strange the QB was rushing almost every snap.

oh fair enough...heaps man. The armed services teams, Army/Navy, and even some of the elite teams.

Michael Vick when he was at VT, was a dual option threat, and at times was a run 1st, throw 2nd type of QB.

Florida looked very suspect today but its the first game of the season at least they didnt lose like Ole Miss. That vaunted SEC

the noles looked good but we will see at OU next week

its nice that cfb is back i love those saturdays when united play and college football is on.

So, UNC didn't do too badly against LSU.

Duke won its opener!!!

Now watching Maryland-Navy. It's a 3 point game with under a minute to go. I'm ready for the Boise State v Virginia Tech game tonight. Go Hokies.

feck Boise State, like most people I had a soft spot for them. But that was when they were a young underdog team, playing against some of the nations elite, but some of the things they have since going 'hollywood' smacks of a distinct lack of class.

I do have a terrible feeling they will walk out with a win tonight.

*Navy supposedly had hopes of an undefeated season this time around.

As for Navy, learn to throw the ball on occasion. Derp de derp derp derp. We should be able to beat them again since we know where to focus our defense. Against Army last year, we got a lead and they had to start throwing to get back in the game late on. Since they weren't used to throwing the ball, our CB picked off two straight passes and returned them both for TDs. The option is never going to win you anything big, as GT has found out. Any team with a months preparation will win the bowl game.

Bet Navy never thought the Terps would undo their dream of a unbeaten season, in week 1

They thought Notre Dame would be the big game.

VT are being nutless monkies. I saw that guy on the right side who was going to come block the punt from the time they lined up. Then they blow coverage on the TD pass. DURRRRR

Beamer Ball at its worst.

Boise State 17 VT 0

This one has not gone anything like it was supposed to. The Bookies had Boise State as favourites, despite being away from home, but 17-0, early in the 2nd.

:nervous:

17-7 now. VT has gotten a bit more comfortable and should improve if their players aren't retarded(Coles hitting the punter, late hit).

20-14

VT definitely back in this now, but they will rue this in the end.

A missed FG, a blocked punt, roughing the punter, kick out of bounds...Jaysus, talk about self destructing.

Yeah, they're putting themselves under a lot of pressure starting like they did.
