Yep, like Thiago etc
More like Herrera & Memphis. Maybe we would have got Thiago as well had Pep not got involved.

We will know soon enough. Personally I think this deal would be a gamble and I'd rather we weren't taking them, so not too fussed if we do miss out. We have the funds to buy any available player and the summer might throw up a few surprises yet.

He'd be my 3rd choice behind Pogba and Vidal, but would be ultimately happy with either 3.

I think Real or Barca will go in for Pogba and we all know what happens when they come knocking.

Which leaves Vidal or Gundogan, I'd rather we went in for Vidal but if Pogba leaves Juve I don't think they would allow them both to leave!

Barca do have a transfer ban this summer.

Real would be crazy not to go for Pogba as they are desperate for that type of player in their midfield at the moment.

Are they? I don't think so. He'l be another player who adds a lot going forward but doesnt bring them closer to the best clubs in terms of the overall team.

I disagree. A midfield three of Pogba, Kroos, and Modric would be very balanced imo.

The problem I see with Madrid at the moment is the lack of defensive awareness and positioning in center midfield combined with a lack of physicality. Pogba would definitely solve the latter problem.

Physicality is much less important than good defensive awareness and positioning though

He wouldnt solve the 1st 2 problems you named. Also, they'd end up benching another of their attacking stars if they're to play this middle 3.

45 seconds of research suggests this would be about 120K Euros a week, which is about what Reus is on and higher than anyone else at Dortmund, so at least Dortmund seem to think he'll be one of their best players going forward, presumably.

With regards to his long-term health, that's good news.

Reus supposedly earns €8m p.a. still €6.5m seems like an extremely fair offer and given how he played the past couple of weeks asking for considerably more seems very greedy. Keep in mind though that Bild aren't the most reliable of sources.

Mundo Deportivo claim that a successful medical took place at Barcelona.

Reckon we might regret this if we have missed out.

Soo barca are getting him and Pogba....?

Barca are currently under a transfer embargo and can't sign any players this summer. Reports of him having a medical a year in advance sounds farcical. Is that even possible?

Their ban ends in January so the idea is they can buy them now to play in January.

I'm saying that's the argument, not that it is happening

I'd be really really really surprised if he were to sign for Barca... At all. Let alone a year in advance. Hardly the most reputable of sources reporting it either.

They actually can conclude transfer business this Summer. They just can´t field him until the start of 2016. The basic idea behind this transfer would be to loan him out for half a season (probably inside the Spanish league) and bring him into the squad after that.

Makes sense. Much like Suarez playing him after ban.

They can't loan since they can't register them. The option would be to arrange everything in summer and leave them playing at their club until winter transfer or have their club loan them out to another club until winter transfer.

It's all gone a bit quiet though, hasn't it? Can someone reassure me we're still signing him please?

Its complicated though, do Barcelona pay a fee for a player they cant use until next summer? at that time he will be available for free. And does Gundogan sign with Barcelona and then get loaned out in the meantime? seems a shit deal for everyone involved.
