Bloody hell. It feels too early to get in to muppet mode but here we are.

So everyone happy with signing Gundogan?......will certainly strengthen our CM options.

Bullshit..

Ron Robert Zieler?!
Never played for the senior club. Says a lot when we've had Angolans but not a single senior German international.

So the German press says it's happening and the English press that it's not...

Over the moon with this signing if true. He's been back to his best the last few months.

30m euros with that amount of time on his contract is over paying.

To be honest I rather trust german sources with good contact to Dortmund. English press doesn't get any news from van Gaal and most of them looking clueless, Di Maria last year the best example.

Shame to see the great Dortmund side break up like this but it was always inevitable once Klopp confirmed his departure and if we're the beneficiaries of that evolution then it's better than nothing!

Paul Hirst is one of the most reliable though is he not... and he's saying it isn't true.

Yikes.

1. Go on Redcafe
2. Look at 'Transfer Tweets' thread
3. ???
4. Jizz.

Loads of the "more reliable" journos went out to deny any interest in multiple players that we ended up signing later on last summer tho.

He isn't saying it isn't true. He's saying it isn't close. That's what United officials are bound to say. Clubs hate to confirm that deals are almost done.

There's too much news for this not to be real. The doubters can do one

I always thought Press Association was on par with BBC in terms of reliability, i.e. they don't say anything unless they've been told by the club one way or another. However, what Dante said is also true. Club are not going to confirm it until it's finalised. Fingers crossed. I think he'd be a quality addition.

Senior figures at Dortmund denying a deal being done for Gündogan as it'll always raise the fee for Geis, Volland or Dzeko.

This is done.

€30M is a lot of money for Gundogan. If he returns to form it´s a good deal for United. United overpaid around €5-10M. Nevertheless when you think he´s THE guy and you got the money, you don´t mess around.

Dortmund cannot pass up that fee, when the expected transfer fee, due to the length of his contract and injury concerns, was more like €15-20M. I guess Dortmund will invest the money in German U21 Geis and Sami Khedira. Tuchel has strong ties to both. Add in Sahin and Bender and their defensive midfield looks complete.

Deal makes a lot of sense for both clubs.

Also think that means Hummels stays at Dortmund.

He's not saying it isn't true. Actually, he's specifically saying that it might be true. He's just saying that it's his understanding that it's not as close as the media in Germany makes it look.

I agree, but it's his wording in the tweet that's interesting.
Loads of the others just go out and say that we're not in for Gündogan, the PA says it isn't close, so they aren't closing the door.

Also goes on to "cover his bases" by saying that we were aware of his contractual situation last summer and even "brought it up".
All seems like a casual way to say: "I know it's happening, but the club told me to put a lid on it until they can make it official"

Probably just another whiter than white journo that's asked a "club source".

No doubt the club will deny it until it's 100%

Agreed. Dortmund also figures to sell at least Immobile for another €15-20M. That alone takes them to 50 with potential sales of Mkhitarayan, Pisczek and Kagawa; the names that have been mentioned as endangered Kloppis recently.

If it's like the AFP in France, then the BBC have their information from the Press Association, but in our case he is saying that United official are denying, he doesn't know more than that.
The Germans have their information from an other source at the club or with the player.

If paying by weight is good enough for my butcher...

A million per stone he weighed after the injury seems fair.

Yep, as an admirer of Dortmund's brash and attractive style of football it makes me sad to be honest. That team was really a breath of fresh air in an era of clubs spending hundreds of millions on transfers. IIRC the likes of Lewandowski, Gotze, Reus, Gundogan, Bender, Błaszczykowski, Hummels, Subotic, Piszczek, Weidenfeller as a collective cost less than what PSG paid for David Luiz, just incredible. But Klopp is gone, a lot of the stars he made have left, now most of of the remaining ones are being plucked away too, piece by piece. Happened to Porto, Klopp's Dortmund is almost fully dismantled, maybe Atleico next ? One never knows.
