I work with a Scouser, who thinks its very funny that we are openly chasing players and thus far have come up with nothing. If you think rival fans are upset that we are not signing Thiago, Fabregas etc then you are high on that sea air.Go on then, what's the difference?

If I am not mistaken BVB rejected a 21m bid from Bayern for Lewandovski. They are losing all those money only to have him for another year.I personally don't think they're unwilling to sell Lewandowski. It would be financial suicide.
The player has set his heart on Bayern, and in turn they are not willing to pay Dortmund much money knowing they'll get him in 12 Months with just having to pay his signing on fee. It suits both Bayern and the player to let the contract run down. Dortmund would sell in an instant to a buyer if the player was willing.
Fabregas did that too mate, even more emphatically. Not sure why everyone keeps forgetting it.
Where did I say it was funny to me? If you supported one of our rivals, you would find it very amusing that we failed with Thiago, openly chasing Fabregas who, for me, looks very unlikely to want to leave Barca and then, the constant paper speculation about this midfielder and that - you're telling me, that other fans wouldn't find it funny?
woody is probably on the blower as we speak offering them 36 deutsche marks and first go on his new train set.
What can I say, I like a bold prediction now and again.
If it was printed in metro and no other paper or media source then it absolutely 100% without any doubts whatsoever must be true...I'm expecting a press conference within 15 minutes to announce the deal
You're always wrong
Stupid post?? Read all the posts eh! I wasn't knocking United's attempts I was mearly saying that opposition fans would, and are, finding plenty to laugh about regarding our transfer activity. Listen to Talksport if you don't believe me. If you wish to bury your head in the sand and think our, thus far, non existent transfer activity is not going unnoticed with opposition fans then fine.Mainoldo said:What a stupid post. We need a midfielder and have targeted the best.. Like Brigth said this year we've just been open with it... But thats what every top club has done for years. Madrid do it so often its a theme.
I would prefer him over Cesc, no lie

I always think the youth thing is a powerful factor. It's not just about getting as many years out of the signing as possible, but also about them being thought of as a United player, rather than a player who was good at a number of clubs.
For me, they're both such absurdly good signings that I can't decide which I'd be happier with. It's like asking a man at the base of two massive mountains to say which is taller.
I'd prefer Gundogan. I think he's a bit more robust and would suit our system more. But most of all, I'd prefer someone to come here and make a name for themselves. Not someone that will never be considered a United legend due to having played for a number of other big clubs.
I doubt we'll get him even if we offered 50 mils for him after watching his performance tonight.
I'd say Dortmund are even less likely to let Gundogan go this summer than Barca are to sell us Fabregas. Next year is a different matter but I think there's feck all chance of him going anywhere at the moment.
