Ángel Di María | Transferred to PSG

Im watching Arsenal now, Ozil is flying for them! I hope we dont give up on Di Maria...

PS I know its more about him wanting to leave than us wanting to sell.

He had 10 assists and 3 goals in the league last season. 4 of those assists and all 3 of the goals came in his first 6 matches. That's the run of form so many keep coming back to as evidence that he wasn't a total flop. What's conveniently forgotten is that those matches were against Burnley, QPR, Leicester, West Ham, Everton and West Brom. Hardly world beaters. I simply don't think he was ever good enough and I won't mourn his sale if it happens.

There's been press that PSG accepted a deal but neither club has said anything, right?

A couple of those assists were actually poor shots that someone else converted. He looked so disinterested in a United shirt last season. Shame he won't get another season though but if he wants out after one poor season, we are best off without him.

and two in the run in were great individual goals by the takers not the passer. played well in the nice weather early on and i thought we had "the guy" and he still may be but he certainly didn't show much but then again who did?

if hes genuinely interested in staying and competing for a place instead of being guaranteed one we should keep him. hes a game changer. no point selling a record signing and a world class player without giving him a second chance.

Getting rid of Angel before the rest of the deadwood in the squad, Jonny Evans etc is just scandalous. He is one of, if not our most talented footballer, we need to get more out of him something which LVG has failed to do.

As if selling Di Maria and Evans is comparable

Out of deadwood, all we have left is Evans and Rafael really. If Di Maria wants to go he can go. He's never been consistent on the right wing, always plays better n the middle or on the left IMO. And for the left we have Memphis now, and others. Mata for the right, or Pedro if we get him. Losing him doesn't make us weaker at all because he didn't show anything last season. If he wants to leave after one bad season then he's clearly not cut out for the premeir league anyways and wouldn't have got better at all.

Don't get this bit.

nobody would have expected this 11 months ago.. the only thing that occurs to me is that if di maria is being sold maybe something bigger is in the works. just have to wait and see (and hope).

If we have agreed to that fee then we are fools. We should of got his transfer fee back completely.

There are so obsessed with him. Could of left them sweating and im sure we would got nearer to the fee we paid.

That being said he does seem a bit spineless. So good luck in the french league....

If he wants to go then it's not really LVG's fault.

Van Gaal contributed to Di Maria's poor season but at this point selling ADM could well be the right move.

It's not but we shouldn't be selling our best players when we keep the likes of Evans around.

Don't get this bit.

Consistently picking Fellaini ahead of him for example, last season we created less chances than QPR and some of that has to be down to the fact Van Gaal built the team to get the best out of Fellaini.

ancelotti and tata martino got more out of him than lvg who is maybe a more conservative manager in some ways. some players thrive under only certain kinds of managers. i think thats his point.

We were never going to get it back, we massively overpaid in the first place and he's not settled well (certainly on the field but seemingly also off it). He's capable of moments of magic but I've never seen the player some claim, the 2nd half of his last year at Madrid looks like a purple patch rather than the norm. If we replace him with Pedro we're getting in a player who I think will be much better out wide for us for half of the price.

It's the Euro's fault as we are only selling for €10m less than we bought him for.

Such a shame though if he was to go.

If a suitable bid had come in, Evans would have been off by now. We can't control what other teams want to do. Or, indeed, what the media wants to write about. There are most likely negotiations going on right now, it's just nobody gives a shit about them the way they do Di Maria.

i dont think thats a fair assumption. di maria had his chances and unlike fellaini he didnt take them. and once fellaini tokk his chance it was hard for di maria to break into a team that was functioning well.

So LVG and Woodward sit down and assess the squad:

"Di Maria is out of favour, several players are ahead of him in the pecking order in his position, he's not happy being a substitute, he's on 150k a week and PSG are interested and we could sell him for 50m - should we do it?"

"Nah, not until we sell Jonny Evans"

"....."

He doesn't want to be here so I have no problems in letting him leave at all, he got benched by Ashley Young FFS.

This is about the 3rd time this Summer people have reacted to him leaving because of some paper shite. Yet everything official says he is coming on tour.

Don't care if he goes anyway. Pedro would be class.
