By the way , Cristiano Ronaldo stepped down from United to Madrid during that time.

you seriously believe the "messed up the admin" story ? the official word was problem with the fax machine, basically United had no intention of selling and purposely switched their fax machine off because Madrid were messing about with the bids.

Yeah it's an online portal. Each club has its own access code. Madrid had been fannying about all day and they registered the transfer at their end a few minutes after midnight so the deal couldn't go through.

The fax machine reference was undoubtedly a joke someone made off the cuff, which has grown a life of its own.

The problem was navas also who took age long to sign papers and also dint abord the plane to united but we were in no wrong.

Never mind the fact that Madrid left it until the final day of the window to put the offer in, they were twattish in the timing of the bid and we reciprocated.
I imagine he viewed it as a step up, regardless of the situation at the time, hence why he was so desperate to go. It isn't a dig at United in any way either, just how things are. United haven't bought from Madrid, because no-one in the first team ever wants to leave. Madrid have bought from United though, and almost always first teamers.
Why are people so obsessed with transfer fees? Who cares if Chelsea got him for lesser price than what we offered? The only one who lost out on is Real Madrid as they could've made more profit had they not haggled over €10million Euros, they are eventually selling him for a lesser fee.

Absolutely not , footballing wise he stepped down from United to Madrid,its was just telling case of him wanting to live with his family with his new kid from English mother apprantly and move to his culture in Spain. He signed a new contract on fergies word and fergie was a man of his word with United ethics. We could have pretty much blocked any sale with a contract he had.
Also United haven't bought from Madrid because we dint need to anyway. We always had world beaters in our team with a super strong winner like fergie sometimes better players than Madrid in many positions, we absolutely don't have to look for the players in Madrid squad.
And the players United sold were all cast outs which fergie wanted to get rid anyway with Beckham with his shoe incident , rvn having a spat where United already had Rooney and Ronaldo in the team who were better than rvn and heienze who failed to make a mark in England and United sold because of evra who proved way better again. Madrid have not bought any players except Ronaldo which we wanted to keep rather only those we wanted to get rid off.
