Don't mind the lineup and glad to see Donny getting a chance to play however i don't like the idea of Lindelof starting over Varane when he and Maguire needs matches together to develop that chemistry.

Ole certainly accommodating Pogba here by moving him out wide left

Don’t like Varane being dropped or rested. He’s Champions League Varane ffs, and he’s at United to play in this competition. Other than that, a good team. Hoping for Donny to seize this opportunity!

Well most of us were wrong haha. Happy for DvB. Hope he takes this chance and provides us another quality option in midfield in the long run.

I just pray that, whoever's in the double pivot, someone takes responsibility for marking the space. I don't wanna see both midfielders getting sucked towards the ball and leaving big gaps between defence and midfield. Someone has to take responsibility for covering.

Why the feck is Varane dropped? He did better than Maguire.

Sancho is apparently down the right today with Pogba left
He’s obviously not dropped because of poor performance

Why do they list players in that manner, the most frustrating thing our social media team does and that's saying something...

It’s really annoying. Especially because we have a few players who can play in a variety of positions so it takes a little while to put them in the most feasible spot.

I felt Shaw may have been given a rest with Dalot coming in because as you say Varane needs the games with AWB one side of him, Maguire the other and De Gea behind

I don't mind Lindelof getting a game though, need to get minutes into some of these before they inevitably all start v West Ham in the cup

Yeah see, prior to seeing the kit in person and on the players I thought it looked awesome, now I think it's hideous.

I've not changed from one opinion to another like that with a kit before. I think once I realised just how sky blue it was and that the pattern was quite a weak pattern (unlike the old blue trefoil one we had which brings back memories of Giggsy and Hughes) I went off it straight away.

If they had stuck to a more solid pattern it would have been a classic imo. But like you say it's all subjective. :D

This season’s away kit is truly hideous. But in its defense, it’s a major upgrade over last season’s shambolic zebra kit. So we’re at least on the right track and hopefully next season we’ll a fantastic away kit.

Not sure why Varane is on the bench but no real complaints with the team. Nice to see VDB get a start too.

Want to see a big performance from Sancho today too.

Pure gutted to see Lindelof playing for us again, can't lie  even against Young Boys.
Why? He's a more than decent player. You people act like he's a cross between Boumsong and Mangala.

There. Could possibly be a diamond but that is generally how I think it'll look.

Cheers! This needs to be the one that is threadmarked for matches going forward, honestly. Can't take that twitter one from Man United.

Very interesting lineup, and will be interesting to see how DvB plays this role. Surprised Greenwood sits out this one. Varane out is a surprise but understandable, also need to keep Lindelof ticking. Varane the weekend, then lindelof again in the cup for Maguire. See Varane and Lindelof together then.

I’m happy he just keeps starting Sancho. The more starts he gets the more his quality will come out.

We're not gonna play our 100% strongest XI for every damn game, guys....

I mean Lindelof needs game time and is better than just a fringe player. I'm surprised he didn't give Lingard a start.

Varane rightly dropped after dropping a bollock and letting Manquillo clean through on Sunday. Can’t dine out on your reputation at United mate.

Disappointed Dalot didn't start but hopefully he will do next week against West Ham in the cup.

Can understand a strong team given we want to get off to a winning start. Can make the subs once the game is done.

Have to say I agree. Not sure what the point is especially considering we want him and Maguire building familiarity. Hopefully we get by with it which I think we will, but Varane is one of the last players I ever want rotated in the CL.

Strong team. Good chance for VDB to show what he can do. Glad Sancho starting, hope he gets a goal/assist.

Maguire is the captain so obviously if Ole want to rotate his CBs he'll rest Varane. Don't know why some can't see this.

Nice to see DVB get a chance, hope he'll do well.

 it’s called rotation, the thing everyone moaned Ole never did.

Very close to the team I wanted him to put out, few changes and potential to bring on a cluster of youth.

Also curious about how this midfield pair does together.

Probably Pogba on the left and VDB with Fred in midfield. With his techniques, he can be an asset on this turf

    -------------------------------De Gea---------------------------
    AWB------------Lindelof-----Maguire------------Shaw
    --------------------VDB-------------Fred-------------------------
    Sancho------------------Bruno----------------------Pogba
    ------------------------------Ronaldo-----------------------------

I like this lineup. I really do. It is actually very strong and we should take a quite comfortable win.
