I have a feeling Sanchez won't play at all :(

We don't even know if he trained.
He did train all week (from Tuesday I Think?). Why wouldn't he play? He's barely played in a month. Whether he starts or not is a different question, but he'll definitely play IMO.

Teammates blown away by 'unbelievable Sanchez'
Speaking with MUTV Luke Shaw has already praised the massive impact Alexis Sanchez has had in training.

“He has trained over the last three days now. He’s unbelievable.

“We all knew what he was capable of anyway. He’s been with us for a few days now in training and some of the stuff he’s done is unbelievable.

“After training the other day, there were four of us outside there doing free-kicks and he literally put five in the top corner in a row and we all were just like ‘wow, this guy’.

“It’s really good to have him – he’s a good guy and he’ll be even better on the pitch, so I’m really looking forward to playing with him and hopefully he can add to the attacking threat we’ve already got. We’ve got unbelievable players up top and he’s only going to boost the strength in depth we have.”

Oh Luke. If we had unbelivable players up top we would have scored more goals and not dropped stupid points. Say it as it is. We have only a few players up top who have potential and no wingers.

Really looking forward to tonight's game. Hopefully a comfortable win.

Sounds like he schooled Shaw in some kind of short training match, he sounds starstruck.

    Shaw is a LB.

Sanchez to play on the right confirmed!! :wenger:

Won't be long before he hits the wall everytime when our coaches start to work their magic on him.

Yeah, was just about to point this out. What happens if they don't sort it till this evening? Imagine him warming up in a casual nike outfit
That makes no sense to me. There are photos of him all about in the United website of him in our Adidas Kit. Both training and math day kits. That theory holds no water

That makes sense. I guess with no training pics it made me skeptical.

Not a true United player until he hits the wall, or hits the first man or blasts it into the crowd.

    I'll go for:

    Romero
    Lindelof Smalling Rojo Shaw
    McTominay Carrick Herrera
    Sanchez Lukaku Rashford

I really do hope there’s no Pogba, Matic, Martial, De Gea & Lukaku tonight. They would do with a rest
In the last 21 days we have played 180 minutes of football and don't face Spurs for another 5 days. Match fitness and sharpness is a bigger concern at this point!

It will be interesting to see the team tonight. Yeovil are 21st in League Two; our youth team should beat them. The key of course is avoiding complacency and doing a professional job. With Spurs away next Wednesday, I think we can expect a lot of fringe players tonight. Personally I wouldn't put Sanchez or most of the other bigger guns anywhere near this fixture. If our back up players can't do this job, they shouldn't be at Manchester United.

The resting is probably less reactionary and more preventative to cope with the next lot of fixture congestion.

I always thought Sir Alex did the right thing giving players extended rest when he could.

Also I generally think that youth and hunger is the key to beating lower league sides with just a pinch of authority and leadership at the spine of the team. The opposition will be raising their game, wildy over-enthusiastic, in a feverish situation that is no place for prima donnas or people frightened of potential injury or brute force.

Just occured to me that we might see Sanchez as striker with Rashford on the left as well. Basically Sanchez can play left, through the middle or up top. Assume Mata is nailed on to start on the right regardless.

Sounds like a sexy Chilean was what we needed to get our players horny again. At least I am just reading that and fantasizing...

It's all about getting the first goal. It doesn't matter how poor they are, it's going to be tough to score when there are 10 players inside their 18. It may take some time, just like when we played them a couple years ago, but once we do score expect the game to open up a bit. Hopefully Gomez gets some time. Would love to see him start. It will also be nice to see Carrick back on the field and of course everyone is looking forward to seeing Sanchez play...

Memories of LVG with that horn comment, good times.
For all his faults LVG was comedy gold.

I'd love it if all three of Carrick, Gomes and Alexis make the first team. A United legend, a promising youngster, and our new star.
