    Needs more Gomes.

Looks like no Martial tonight, hope he’s not injured.

    Or Pogba.

    Just resting hopefully.

Must have changed my team about 4 times so far. If we dont see the likes of Darmian, Rojo, Blind tonight would it be fair to assume thats it for them.

No de Gea, Valencia, Jones, Pogba or Martial travelling. Surely all will start on Wednesday.

Squad: S. Romero, Pereira, O'Hara, Young, Shaw, Darmian, Smalling, Marcos Rojo, Lindelof, McTominay, Matic, Carrick, Ander Herrera, Gomes, Mata, Lingard, Sanchez, Rashford, Lukaku.

    Where's Fellaini?

    Where's Fellaini?
My guess, he's still carrying an injury. Maybe the same is happening with Blind and even Jones. Mourinho mentioned he was going to let some players recover from little injuries.

Brilliant news about Gomes. If he's on the bench, then hopefully we'll be 3-0 up and coasting early, so that Jose can throw the kid on

(Though I guess it would be nice to be 3-0 up and coasting early regardless )

Gomes should make the bench then.

19, minus O'Hara, 18 players. 11 on the pitch, 7 on the bench.

So, the big question is, if he starts, where will Sánchez play, now that our left-wide forward (Martial) is out. If Sánchez goes to the left and Rashford to the right…:nervous:

Don't forget A.Gomes has a Portuguese father Mourinho surely knows, which is not a big factor, of course, but it surely counts a bit.

I really do hope there’s no Pogba, Matic, Martial, De Gea & Lukaku tonight. They would do with a rest and there’s no need in risking injury before Spurs. If they’re in the squad hen great we can call on them if needed but let’s hope they’re not.

    Darmian......Smalling.....Rojo......Shaw
    ..............McTominay..Herrera............
    ....Sanchez.....Gomes.......Lingard......
    .....................Rashford....................

Or Lingard where Gomes is and Mata wide.

Carrick must be in contention to play. Pogba isn't travelling and Matic you'd expect to be rested as well so I think Carrick starts.

Think we might see a curveball and go for a 3-5-2 tonight. Something like this:

    Romero
    Lindelof - Smalling - Rojo
    Young --------------------------- Shaw
    McTominay---Fellaini-- Pogba
    Sanchez - Rashford

With two/three weeks of training after heart surgery?

Very unlikely, if you look at the traveling squad. And it wouldn't even count as Tottenham preparation, since they've dropped the 3 at the back lately.

Carrick & Herrera in for Fellaini & Pogba maybe. I think Lingard will play though.

And he'll be on the bench, for sure. If the game is easy, Mourinho might give him some minutes.
Problem is usually that even in easy games, our subs are made to see out the results so the youngsters rarely get off the bench

Looking at the travelling squad I would expect either Rashford or Sanchez to be on the bench, otherwise we have no forwards available off the bench and that would be very unlike Jose.

McTominay got 90' against Bristol and we got thrown out of the League Cup.

Think we might see two up front. Sanch and Rashford or Lukaku.

Yeah, he's going with Rashford as CF with Sanchez/Lingard and Mata on the wings. Since Carrick is not fit to start (think he will be subbed on), it will be a 2 man midfield of Herrera-McTominay with Lingard either on the left or in the middle depending on where Sanchez plays.

I assume Lukaku is a nailed on sub for atleast 20 minutes even if we are winning comfortably since Jose would want Sanchez to get used to linking up with our CF.

    Sanchez.. Drool:

I think we'll field a strong team which should do well. Hopefully Gomes gets to come on at some point as well.

    Romero
    Darmian - Lindeloff - Rojo - Blind
    Herrera - Fellaini
    Mata - Sanchez - Rashford
    Lukaku

Yeovil have got my favourite football song but i still hope we destroy them

Main surprises with the squad are Matic & Gomes travelling, and no Fellaini or Tuanzebe. I think Matic is one of the most important players, so hopefully he's just on the bench, but I think we should've gone with Fellaini instead if he's fit. Matic would have made more sense to rest than Pogba, but oh well. Herrera starts but I'm not sure if it'll be Carrick or McTominay, and if it is McTominay does Matic start? Could play 433 instead in that case.

    Romero
    Darmian Lindelof Rojo Shaw
    Herrera Carrick
    Mata Lingard Rashford
    Lukaku
    ---
J.Pereira; Smalling, Young; Matic, McTominay, Gomes; Sanchez

Smalling, Young, Matic, and Sanchez have strong chances of starting against Spurs, especially Smalling & Matic who are certs bar injury. It'd make sense to have them on the bench, but we'll see how 'strong' Jose is really going to go. So, ideally it'll be McTominay to replace Carrick, then Gomes and Sanchez to come on for two of the forwards (Lingard & Lukaku). Sadly, if we're winning by a couple of goals I think we might not see Lukaku & Sanchez at the same time.

No surprise about Tuanzebe omission, he just got loaned to Aston Villa. Pogba started against Bristol and it wasn't enough, even in a midfield three, so maybe Mourinho feels Matić makes us more balanced like no other player does, except perhaps Carrick. Fellaini must be carrying the same knee injury, only explanation.
