Reading all the comments, perhaps I'm mistaken. Didn't Rashford already get dropped on Sunday?

Disgraceful is what it is. Rashford treated more favourably than Sancho. Pulling a tequila bender induced sickie to miss training is a sackable offence. He doesn't even get a match suspension.

    Discipline? What discipline.
He missed the last match and was fined £650k. You have literally no idea how the conversation went between him and Ten Hag.

He was left out over the weekend. How long do you want a player out for to send a message?

If anything, telling Rashford he couldn’t play against Newport was doing him a favour. It’s hardly punishment. It’s not a strong enough message.

Encouraging to see ETH make some of the choices that many find obvius. Garnacho over Antony on the right, and the double pivot with Casemiro and Mainoo are good choices in my opinion. Now if we can just avoid a McTominay introduction around the 60 minute mark to throw the game, we could get something.

If he had any conviction in the guy he signed and said recently will soon come good, then he'd be starting tonight. It's a weak move. Not to mention the fact Rashford, who had also been shite, just walks straight back in.

He's put out our strongest team. We'll see what happens but you'd have to think Rashford in the last chance saloon.

I'm really disappointed with tenHag. Rashford should not be anywhere near team.

    Poor decision.

    I suppose the narrative is:

If Rashford doesn’t score this is an awful decision to bring him back in to the line up.

If he scores, it’s the right call.

    Right?

My opinion is that it’s wrong to bring him straight back in regardless of what he does.
even if he scores it's the wrong decision he's been dogshit all season then walks back into the team, poor management, one rule for one for another.

It'll teach Antony not to score, next time.
In fact, it'll teach him to go out on a bender, miss training, don't score. And providing all 3 conditions are met, he'll definitely be chosen to start.
Scoring against a struggling League 2 side shouldn’t guarantee your starting place in an away Prem game.

It's like a player serving out a one match ban in a game he wasn't going to start anyway.

Rashford starting shows we have no standards, and a player is bigger than the club.

Rashford was dropped off the panel for the last game. Any player that accepts their wrong doings will be allowed back. Sancho didn't do that and he's gone

Agreed, although I do wonder if he was told (or simply decided himself) to handle the Rashford situation differently so we don’t have a repeat of the Sancho situation which has seen his value plummet.

Rashford needs to turn up tonight. Thought Maguire might have got in ahead of Varane on his form prior to injury. From the squad we have that’s a pretty good team though.

Rashford will have been heavily fined and he was left out for one game. And unlike Sancho, he has not taken to social media to call his manager a liar, instead in Ten Hag's words he has "taken responsibility". If you cannot see the difference between the two cases, I cannot help you.
I for one am happy if there is less drama at our club than more, and more available players than less *pardon* fewer.

I’m not Rashford’s biggest fan but what should the club have done? He’s been fined, should he be paraded naked through the streets and egged by angry fans?

Looking at the current state of the squad and issues with Rashford possibly making the locker room even more toxic, I'm going to say this match will be quite one-sided.

Our lads will start ok, look like they might actually be able to create some chances, and then revert back to normal after the first dangerous Wolves attack. Wingers will be super greedy, striker will be isolated and get no service, Wolves score before half time and it'll end 3-0.

He missed the last match due to illness. That is what was said.

Ten Hag has no excuses for this game. A well rested team, just about a first choice XI and including Rashford in the last chance saloon.
If this isn’t a stellar performance, it’s the end of the road for the manager.

There is a difference. Sancho didn't pull a tequila bender induced sickie on the day of training. That is a disgrace. If any of us did that we'd be fired.

i think Rashford is gone in the summer. Its logice to play him in order to maximize both his value and chances of European football
It is not about maximazing any value. This is about value of the club. I though we were on right path with Sancho, Pogba, Lingard gone.

Today when you play him you are saying that it is ok to play poorly whole season, to party and miss training, to show non existent passion and pride.

Rashford better run himself into the ground out there after the shit he’s pulled. Don’t want to see any jogging about or half arsed pressing from him or he should be hooked immediately.

Seem to recall the club backing Pogba over his falling out with Mourinho. We all know how well that ended for us. Sadly see us going the same way with Rashford

Same as always. Dreading the game in the days leading up to it and then excited and quietly confident an hour before kick off.

Go on, dash my hopes quite expertly again, United. Ya pricks.

It's a comparatively very strong team on paper, so great to have the injured players back. But some of those returning will still be lacking match fitness / sharpness, and it's going to take a bit of time for the likes of Casemiro and Mainoo to build up an understanding as a partnership.

But, hopefully, our key players will mostly stay fit for the rest of the season and we can start seeing some better performances / results.

Nonsense. Normal employees call in sick after a drunken night out all the time without getting fired, they just do not get ratted on by the waiters or the press because they are not celebrities.
