Except he’s been decent in pretty much every game he’s featured in this season.

Decent in one league game, vs Forest. And a decent half vs Liverpool before the obligatory crocking.

2 of his 3 league goals were totally meaningless in a 6-3 hammering.

It looks like the Dutch league was Antony’s level. It wasn’t like he was putting up big numbers over there either. Spending €100 million on him was a ludicrous decision.

That's the mental thing. His numbers were underwhelming playing for the most dominant team in one of the weaker European leagues

I judge signings after season ends but so far i see more potential (for being better signing) in Nunez than Antony.
Antony is someone we'll have to judge long term. He's young, new league, and a huge price tag pressure. That's hard for a young player to adapt to. Look at Dembele at Barca... Took years for it to click.

There's plenty of time for Antony, in the mean time he just has to work hard, but he's clearly low on confidence too.

I think we are playing pretty well, just lacking quality in either final ball or finishing. Wolves are much more solid than forest and Burnley but our chances are coming.
Anthony is doing ok, needs that bit of luck with his finishing it will come. His defensive work is sound but the moaners will be on his back as they were Rashfords last season. Wish they would get behind the team instead of whining like old women.

interesting to hear Rashfords benched for in-discipline. Hes let himself and the team down, he must think hes still playing for Ole - but I like ETH no nonsense disciplined approach. Sends a big message out to the team.
Wow, a sensible and considered post. Agree with all.

I swear half the people posting on this thread don’t know jot about football. I despair.

Frustrating half, Garnacho had to take advantage of that Semedo mistake, would've been big blow for Wolves.

Bad 45 minutes from most of the players, surely Rashford will come on soon.

Games like this could hopefully push the board to sign a striker next month, even if it's only a 6-month loan.

Some decent football but I'd have Harry on and Shaw left back plus Rashford on. Anthony desperately needs something to go right for him. Bruno starting to get on the ball a bit. That needs to continue.

We probably underrate just how much the missing players contribute to our attacking penetration.

Garnacho probably should have chopped the ball to the left and taken it around Sa. Not sure how Martial missed the header, but think Antony was offside anyway.

Need more firepower up front. Bruno and Eriksen haven't been getting on the ball and creating either.

Anthony bashing has been very bizarre on this thread.

Relative to his peers he's not bad at all, the quartet is all off the boil today. Have to remember early kick offs are generally slow, but I don't think Anthony is remotely the worst of our lot. I've been far more frustrated by Marial's heavy footed jogs and lack of acceleration.

Also more annoyed that our backline aren't recycling the ball quick enough vertically up the pitch, and Bruno keeps throwing the ball back to the opposition. Eriksen is non existent. There are a lot of players that are anonymous / poor before I consider Anthony, but the posters all want to bash him

This match has 1-0 Wolves written all over it. Once again really poor finishing letting us down, Rashford surely has to be borough on, he’s our best attacker by a mile and shows today.

Tempted to agree, Malacia looks a liability.

wolves are just loading the box and looking to counter. boring cnuts.

we just need to keep the pressure on, keep feeding garnacho and malacia needs to overlap more

I judge signings after season ends but so far i see more potential (for being better signing) in Nunez than Antony.
Why? Everything tonight comes down our right side through him. We’ve kept the ball high up and pressed the Wolves defence back. He isn’t there to score goals.
Nunez is genuinely a terrible finisher. I don’t even know what potential means when you have a striker who can’t score.

It's like everytime we're gifted a breakthrough moment in the league, we just never capitalise. Here's hoping today we buck that trend.

Antony has been terrible, unwilling to try and beat his man, his passing has been erratic and has let his man down his side too many times.

Eriksen has been invincible and our passing overall hasn't been good enough.

Two quality chances missed, hopefully we don't rue them come FT.

Our attacking 4 have all be collectively poor. Nobody seems to like running in behind - both wingers want to stay wide and wait for the ball. That’s fine - it stretches the pitch but you have to offer a threat in behind occasionally. And Martial has no interest in running in behind ever. Constantly wants it to feet.

Unsure why Eriksen is mostly the deepest midfielder today and why of both CDs it's Varane stepping forward

Oh, he's been awful. Has barely made a successful pass and ruined so many attacks. I'd say he was our worst player in that half, and of course recent performances makes him stand out a bit.

    That is very fair.

We've been decent. It's our lack of taking our chances that's the problem. Lack of composure in front of goal - our perennial problem...

Agree. Created enough to be in front and kept Wolves away from any chances. Also way too many bad passes and give away considering Wolves isn’t even pressuring us. It’s not like Wolves have been good and forcing us to make mistakes.

But our finishing is just awful. Multiple sitters, 1v1 with the keeper…

We just saying anything today then?
No I've thought this for a while. He has been a decent addition on a free but he's far too passive and in these type of games he gets overrun and bullied. Other games where we can really dominate the ball, he can pick his passes but he's a rotation piece not a start imo.
