Looks like the 442 you were hoping for @Sultan albeit with different personnel. Mata playing off Greenwood?

I actually quite like this side on paper, let’s toss a coin and see how they play.

Would have liked to see Dalot instead of Chong, who has been quite poor when given a chance this season, but with what's available, and the fact that we need to rest a few players, that's probably as good as it gets.

My GOD this is not looking great. I expected it to be bad, but that midfield is just the worst ever for us. Pereira, Mata and Matic is the slowest midfield ever.
Also Chong has been terrible whenever I have seen him.
Playing Maguire and Lindelöf in all games when they are not even playing great is also stupid.
He could have tested something different here instead of going with things that do not work.

Romero better have a great game and then Greenwood can score a goal out of nothing and we may nick this 1-0. Come on United!

I know, but some stress out if someone says something to criticise the team or manager. As long as it doesn't get personal then it is fine.
I find it's more the way around and you have to be heavily ctitical of everything to do with the club.

Might as well have played Levitt and Garner in the middle. Weird that neither made the bench.

When you look at our options it’s utterly astonishing that hordes of fans seem to expect us to be any further up the table than fifth.

You could be right, I have no idea.

    No one tells me anything.

    *tuts*

Haha, I think I read it somewhere. Looks as though he is in fact injured/ill, which leaves Ole with no other choice then to go with Matic, Pereira and Mata. Gomes is on the bench, so be nice to see him play some part.

Weird to put out such a weak lineup in the FA cup which Ole should be going for. Can't see us doing against Wolves unfortunately. Hopefully Greenwood can have a big game and save us.
Baring Chong, it's not that weak of a lineup. You could see the back 4 starting in the PL. Romero should not be looked down on. Matic, Fred, and Perreira are basically our only fit MF players . Yes, Fred could have started but rotation is needed now more than ever. Mata in for Lingard as he's sick, and Martial and Rashford rested.

    What's to complain about?

Yes, Dalot on the left with James on the right would have been better. We'll probably see that substitution though.

The team just underlines the serious quality back up players we have. I will be amazed if we get a result with that midfield.
Chong I do not rate at all, i hope he proves me wrong but ive seen him a good few times and hes been crap every time.

Outside of Greenwood, Tahith has had a very favourable amount of minutes for the first team (in EFL Cup, Europa and domestic cup competitions, as compared to the likes of Garner and Gomes. Perhaps it's because he's 20 and therefore Ole feels that he's the most imminent in terms of seniority from the youth ranks. Who knows. He's been largely underwhelming against all varying degrees of opponents. It's possibly partly down to the fact that he's only played five games for the U23's, which isn't many at all. It's a big ask, but he needs to start impressing with the minutes that are given to him.

Garner has been ill. We saw what happened to Liverpool's kids, maybe he actually wants a performance and a confidence boost.

Granted, but it's not a stellar example. Liverpool played with a full eleven from the youth team, most (if not all) of which had never played a first team game before. Should Garner or Levitt had played together in midfield, at least they'd have some squad regulars to support them.
