I hope Wolves have a go at us, we'll destroy them if they do. A bit worried if they just sit back, we're still struggling to create chances against an organized defence.

Here's the rub for a team like Man United.

Are you happy to come away with a 0-0 having sat back and no had a go at us? We would be happy with a point against Man United at Molineux.

The last thing we will do is try and attack you, we play our best football on the break. But you're Man United! You're expected to Attack, Attack, Attack whomever you play.

We will be super-organised (as always) and keep it as tight as possible for as long as possible.

Then as you inch forward, trying to break us down, BAM!!!!! We will win the ball, put Jota one on one with Luke Shaw, he will roast him again and slot home the winner :D

I can actually vision it like you've described it. I think that the team that scores the first goal will win it.

Yes. If you manage to get a goal first and we then have to look to break you down, we could concede one or two more!

Long gone are the days when we're expected to Attack, Attack, Attack whomever we play. As recently as Sunday we sat back and played on the break at Old Trafford against a weakened Chelsea.

Not the case in recent years, we usually sit back and let the opposition team have a lot of ball possession. This was the case again Chelsea at OT too.

Can go the same the other way as well. Still early days, hard to know where each team stands, hell I'm not even sure where we stand.

I just hope we pick up a win here, a big big test. A win would increase confidence in the squad and belief.

You averaged nearly 60% possession across the 3 games against us last season. I think you'll still have the majority of the ball on Monday.

Tough one, I think the side be up for this one big time, show our quality no mistakes, like last season down there, we should pick up the points, 0-1 will do for me.

Hope we go 352 against them to give that extra protection while attacking. If not add a midfielder and go for 3 man midfield. Either way, Pogba can't play in a midfield 2.

Everyone struggle to create chances against an organizaed defense.

Ole's counter attack style so far worked very well against team who is looking to attack. Which is also why we did relatively well last season against the top 6 teams. The concern remains whether we can break teams down who set up shop to defence, which is what Wolves will do.

The only thing I felt easier about the coming match (despite our 2 away loss last season) is Maguire and AWB, so we are unlikely going to be caught with our pants down should Wolves tries to sucker punch us with a counter.

Play a diamond and defend the wings 1v1. Clog midfield and stop counters early.

This is the first of many games we will see the benefit of having Martial upfront over Lukaku.

His ability to hold the ball and lay it off will be massive. Rashford and Lingard's movement will also be key.

Will expect numerous occasions where Maguire or Lindelof step up into midfield. Wolves counter attack will be the risk for us AWB will need to be defensively sound as usual and Shaw will need to improved on his performance from last season at Molineux.

I would like us to play like this :
    DDG
    AWB-VNL-Harry-Shaw
    ———McT-Pogba——-
    ——————-Lindgard-
    Greenwood-Martial-Rashford

Lindgard helping cover in front of Shaw in defence, and to pick up cover between the lines in attack to free up Pogba. Not only to spray passes but to put Pogba in shooting position, something we do way to little IMO and would also force the defence up a little bit.

Three in front swapping places alot. Specially Greenwood to the middle to free up space for AWB.

    McT on defencive duty.

    de Gea

    Wan-Bissaka Lindelof Maguire Shaw

    Andreas Scott Pogba

    Lingard

    Martial Rashford

Could United surprise with a 3-5-2?

A bit far fetch, but I was thinking something like

    De Gea

    Bissaka Lindeløf Maguire

    Pogba McTominay

    Greenwood Mata James

    Martial Rashford

Great that Wolves have a game today though they should turn Pyunik over quite easily. Neves, Jota, Jimenez, Dendocker, Jonny and Rui Patricio all rested for this one. Don't know whether Boly is injured. They don't have a huge squad though.

I really do hope it goes just like it did last season!
You would. always been a tough ground to go to, Europa league game won't help? Still a toughie, but this season started with a positive attitude.

You struggled a bit against the foxes, bar VAR you would have pinched it? Can see us just doing enough to get result.

Greenwood and James as wing backs?

Wings, not backs. A tod offensive, perhaps and it demands for Bissaka to hold his position at the back. Wolves had 30 % possession against Leichester and United need to find a way to open them up.

I do expect the 4-2-3-1 though.

They have Europa game today and are playing second string team and leading 3-0.

Wolves will be filled with false confidence. I expect them to concede early. Three nil to United.

Didn't you actually do that to us last season? I think it was the FA cup game where you countered our attack and it was a pretty comfortable win.

I'm going for a scruffy 1-1 draw. Going to be really interesting to see if we can break teams down that don't throw many bodies forward. Easily my biggest concern this season.

Funnily enough, it’s my biggest concern for Wolves too!

Start Lingard in the hole and have him basically man-mark Neves. Moutinho and Dendoncker are both good players but the former is running a little slower these days and Dendoncker won't be used to the pace of the PL yet. With Lingard keeping Neves out of it as much as possible, the full high press from the engines of Rashford, James and McTominay will interrupt their usual pattern of play and hopefully turn the ball over high up the pitch. This is crucial, as Wolves are such a tight unit against attacks built more slowly from the back.

    Rashford Martial James
    Lingard
    Pogba McTominay
    Shaw Maguire Lindelof AWB
    De Gea

Why fix something that isn't broken?

I don't think there will be any changes in this match, at least not in the first half. If everyone is healthy I think Ole starts with the same team as against Chelsea.

After a big win, they should have the chance to show if it was a coincidence or if they can do it again.

I think we win by 1-2.

Dendoncker's been playing in the PL for a year.

Shaw is a good player, with a more settled defense I think we'll see him develop the attacking side of his game.

I think we'll do Wolves, probably have to go for a 3 man midfield though, preferably including Fred as the DM.
How is Shaw a good player? Rarely beats a man and always hits the ball against defenders shins.. as well as left sided cb always having to cover for him. I don’t think I ever saw him make a quick pass out of defense either, he dribbles running towards martial with the ball and releases it within a few yards of him.

Taking Andreas out who we know has an eye for a pass and good delivery, in favour of Lingard at #10 who has neither of things, against a packed defence?

    That seems...odd.

4312: de Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelöf, Maguire, Shaw; McTominay, Matić, Pogba, Lingard; Rashford, Martial.

I think Solskjær will prefer Matić on a difficult away pitch. Again Lingard to get the aggression and pace on their defenders with Rashford and Martial infront of him.

I've starting having a few nerves when we go up against the Wolves. They look destined to score against us but I really hope we can get away with a second clean sheet as it would help build momentum. We'll need to keep the mistakes to a minimum. Especially Matić.
