Wolverhampton is a high-mid league table team that's had the good fortune of having a squad that has completely sold into the managers vision, and are not to be overlooked. Their squad is improved since last season. The game against Leicester (what little i actually saw myself) was so-so, but Leicester is not a bad team either.
That being said, Wolves have a rather astonishing track record against the top6 teams last season:
Home
Manchester City - 1-1 Draw
Tottenham 2-3 Loss
Chelsea 2-1 Win
Liverpool 0-2 Loss
Liverpool (FA Cup) 2-1 Win
Manchester Unitd (FA Cup) 2-1 Win
Manchester United 2-1 Win
Arsenal 2-1 Win
Away
Manchester United - 1-1 Draw
Arsenal - 1-1 Draw
Tottenham 3-1 Win
Manchester City 3-0 Loss
Chelsea 1-1 Draw
Liverpool 2-0 Loss
6 Wins
4 Draw
4 Losses
4 Losses against Top6 sides. Tottenham lost 9 games against Top6 sides last season. (Including CL final).
This team is no joke against great opposition, we should not take this game for granted in any way shape or form.
That being said I do firmly believe that we've improved enough from last year, and that the boys have something to prove to everyone but mostly themselves. Morals will be running mile high after dismantling Chelsea. Wolves will be very defensive minded. I think Daniel James might get a start in this one over Pereira. There might be early yellow cards from late tackles which will open his lane up.
