Glad Eriksen is rested. With Casemiro out, Mainoo and Eriksen are the only proper midfielders we have. Need to wrap Eriksen in cotton wool. Never happy to see walkabout Scott starting but it’s only Wigan. Surely…..

At least it’s our best front three. Garnacho right, Rashford left, Walmart Haaland up front.
    :nervous:

There were less ill people at my doctors this morning than within this squad.

Our strongest available lineup, probably feels that he has no choice at the moment. I’d prefer to see someone like Amad or Dan Gore integrated further through selection though especially against a lower league team. I do wonder how many players are ‘injured’ or ‘Ill’ due to us having a bad season or no longer rating Ten Hag.

How much money do you think we will get for Bayindir in the summer?

Surely he didn’t come just for money and actually wants to play football.

Feeling less confident now after seeing McTominay, Rashford and Bruno Fernandes on the same pitch. Still going to beat them, but probably on penalties.

injury and illness culture has set into this squad. Im not saying every injury isnt real, obviously some are easily detectable and have to be managed, but its not plausible that this level of 'illness' and injury occurs in a sample of incredibly healthy young men.

It wouldn’t surprise me if it’s Covid. It seems to be rife everywhere and it could be working its way through the squad. I’ve just had a bout and I’ve got symptoms still after 8 days so it’s not hard to see them being laid up for 4-5 days and then needing some training to get fitness back.

Is it bad I'm not looking forward to this game and felt relieved by the lack of games in recent few days ?

Yeah, a lot of sickness around my various social groups atm. Not hard to see how we are being hit by it.

The 4th round draw is about to happen... of we get City or aliverpool not sure what I'd want from this game!

Depends who we are playing against.

I was quite excited for this (I know I'm fooling myself), right until I saw the line-up.

All i wanted for tonight was to see some more of Amad. And the presentation not in numerical order.

We must be training in high heels or somethin. It just isn`t normal to have +10 players out at any given time.

Good lineup. I didn't expect McT, Onana and Rashford to be dropped, so it's ok. Hopefully it will be a convincing win even if it's "only" Wigan

Surely we'll breeze through this. Hoijlund, McT, Rashford and Bruno are flat track bullies. Plus we have a solid CB pairing.
    Hoping for a 1 - 4 win.

Only 1 GK can play . He came knowing he won’t be playing . You should Google a few number 2 goalkeepers and appearances made when the number 1is fit.

Looks to me like Erik hopes to slap them early doors and then switch out key players for kids in the second half. It kinda makes sense I guess as the longer the game goes on the more nervous our players will get and the more dangerous a Wigan goal would be.
    I hope this strategy works!

Though isn't that generally the approach in cup games 9/10 times regardless of the manager? Seems he s hardly doing something novel here.
